Just the meat. We complained about being hip deep in bear meat and nowhere to use it so Kelly came up with the quest. ;-)

I'm still hip deep in bear and mouse meat. Perhaps The Mods can help with that again.

It's only available for Wobble, but once we work whatever kinks come from this one we may run an independent one. It's not linked into this one other than some of the rules.

You can sign up to join a wobble team if you want. Or you can go and provide suggestions to teams :P

A lot of people have dropped out, so there's a few open spots.

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments I have a question:

For the build a house task Paint - Read a book where the cover is mainly (<70%) one color, is this like, exactly the same color? Or like 70% any red or any blue or whatever?

message 7560: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane Just red or blue or whatever, doesn't have to be one solid shade of blue.

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments I'm sure Kelly is exhausted from getting Emerge the Victor (for WOBBLE) all ready to go, not to mention all the "real life" things I'm sure she has to do.

Kelly - I saw the rules were up for Emerge and it looks AMAZING!! Thanks so much for making it for us! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for it to start. :D :D

message 7571: by Ray (user2637) (new)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments Yes. It's the last event in WOBBLE -- a team-RPG. :)

Alyssa wrote: "What's Emerge? A wobble thing?"

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Kelly said that some players have dropped out of Wobble. So, for those interested, you could email Kelly to find out if there's room to join.

message 7573: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments I'd hurry if you want to join. After the start of RPG we probably won't process any new players since we're so close to the end.

Emerge looks so awesome! I am so excited by the competition element too!
Top work Kelly & Tea & all the other mods.

Dholes are looking forward to a head-to-head with the Dee-Ohs!

Reva, have you joined a team? Which one? Cos I'll need to keep an eye on that team too!

Off now, to find some short series books!

Wheelathon nearly broke us, but then we were lucky in our strategy for Bingo & the tasks for Labours to be honest.

Mostly we've been having a ball.

I do happen to be a squirrel but your team is so far ahead of all the other teams, no one has even the remotest possibility of catching up to you or the DOs. So we're hoping for 3rd place like Cathy said!

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments WOBBLE derailment:
<-- I'm a Red Panda. We Pandas were completely comfortable with our fairly static 20th place, and pleasantly surprised when we jumped to 18th at the end of Labors. :) It surprised us because -- though we're in 18th place in points -- we're way down at 22nd place for # of books read! So I guess we've been lucky and/or good at strategy.

It's a lot of fun and I've made some great friends. I hope there's another challenge like this... but maybe a little shorter..and after a few month break. ;)

♞ Pat Gent | 916 comments Dhole here!

Winning's not the point. Playing with a great team and reading great books and having fun is the point. Right?

Actually, being the leading team adds its own level of pressure to maintain that status, which adds to the fun a bit, but mostly we haven't been paying that much attention to it because it creates too much stress. We do like the checking off tasks part and we love moving them into the completed column!

This whole RPG thing is pretty amazing. I have a little hero here, and have for a while, but I've sadly been neglecting him because I was a bit overwhelmed by the complexity of this particular game. Now I'm a lot more comfortable with it, and I'm planning to really get him out there in Novel Land and get him some monsters of his own under his belt.

Besides, I've met a lot of really great people in this group, and I want to continue to be part of it. And that's the best thing!

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Reva wrote: "Kelly, when are you planning to roll out the rest of the October update?"

After I get tournaments created. So mid next week :) My birthday is on the 19th so that seems like a fun target.

message 7596: by Bety (new)

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Not sure if someone else has done this before, but for my own reference I mad a spreadsheet with simple info for all quests- XP earned, items earned, books required, items required, etc..

It makes it easier for me to hunt down a quest when I want to get a big bundle of Exp.

It's viewable here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Any suggestions? I considered splitting "Other Reward" into "Gold reward" "Consumable reward" "Permanent reward".

Note that expired quests are not on here. I also might eventually make tracking sheets for all quests and individual tasks... though that is going to take a very very long time.

message 7597: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Looks good Bethany! I have a spreadsheet I work off of (since I can't always be online and as a working sheet) but I usually scroll through everything to see the rewards for each of the quests. And after a while, you tend to remember certain ones, or I move the ones I really want to do first to the top.

For the rewards, I would split that into Gold, Potions and Other so you can search for potions when you need them or Gold. But whatever makes it easier for you is what you should do!

Awesome spreadsheet! I did notice though, that for the merely cat blanket, you technically need a puppy and level two finding to be able to kill the merely cats for their pelts
