I've decided to switch from one favourite book to another, more summer-themed, one (I was a little short of AA's with the original plan!). Instead of In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, I'll now do Summer's Lease by John Mortimer. I've updated my original post to reflect the change.
ok so I am new to embracing these challenges - what is the rule with using the same book for several challenges? Summer Challenge as well as Around Australia 2021?

I've just reached the halfway mark with 13/23, so right on track by my calculations. I'm terribly slack with reviews, but the highlight so far has been Piranesi by Susanna Clarke - mysterious, captivating and oddly optimistic all at once. I also really enjoyed Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier (AA) and Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik.

Well done, Tien! What a beautiful cover your book has - it sounds like a really interesting read, too.

Finished my 6th of this Challenge with:-'L' from LOTTERY - book title:-
The Lake House by Kate Morton
- AAYet another winner from Kate Morton - rated it 5*.
My review is here:-

I am sulking a little bit today. My final book for the challenge was meant to be ; E - Excession by Iain M. Banks, which would give me the 'E' I need AND contribute to my personal sci-fi annual challenge.I picked it at random off my Acquired-as-yet-unread shelf because I have a lot of Iain M Banks, both read and unread and my shelving system let me down.
From the first sentence, I knew I had read this book, fairly recently. So now I have to re-think my E.
- first world problems eh?

I have to say, I'm so grateful for Goodreads in this respect because so often I pick up books that sound interesting but maybe a little familiar and in the past I could never be sure I hadn't already read it. Whereas now I can track it a lot easier!
Shame it was the E, that's a tough one to find usually!

Before Goodreads, I lost count of the number of times I picked up books in the library, got them home, then realised I had already read them. GR is an absolute wizard for solving that problem. The occasional shelf grumble is nothing in comparison.
