Reverse Harem? Anyone? discussion
What reverse harem book have you read?

Has anyone else read the Godhunter series? Because I'm reading them now and super duper conflicted

Possible Triggers: torture scenes, kidnap.
Much love guys! 😘😘

Yes thee are some books like Toby's that were not as great but for the most part I love this series. Its great how Amy Sumida juggles all these characters yet gives them time in the spotlight and remains true to each!
Leigh, I felt conflicted as well the first few books what with Thor and Trevor and then Kirrill and Odin but after bk5 I became a fan!

I discovered this RH series this week and loved it!
Space Merchants series by Wendie Nordgren. Its a 5 book ongoing RH series that has space opera elements and its about the h who becomes a merchant and eventually a princess. So far there are 6 heroes.
The books are:
The Space Merchants
The Space Merchants of Arachne
The Parvac Emperor's Daughter
Omnes Videntes
The Spider Queen
I think the books are on KU; I'm hung over on them and can't wait for the next book!

You're welcome Rena!
I read what you said about the Make Me a Wish book. I didn't like the book much either; it had potential but the h's crazy and violent rages put me off a bit.
However I liked the heroes. Since they had been brought up from childhood knowing that they would lead a polyandrous marriage, I felt it was normal that they seemed well-adjusted. But like you, I'd have loved to know more about each of them in depth!

Kaffekopp,
Pack Ebon Red was a good read for me too. The worldbuilding was so unusual and interesting.
I did wish we got to spend more time with each of the heroes though. Even Nic - we barely got to know him. I felt the h thought and worried more about Faith( her BFF) than anyone else, even the heroes - seemed a bit unbelievable to me. Hope the next book focuses more on the guys.

For RH authors who wish to share news about your new releases I've created a new discussion thread :

So I've been meaning to ask, what do RH readers think about the new trend of serial RH novels? They seem to have become popular this year and as far as I know all published on the Amazon KU platform. Even AS Oren is doing one.
Personally since I hate cliffhangers I've been staying away. I'd rather wait till the book is finished and then buy it.
(In fact I'm still waiting for the Lyn Forester and Autumn Reed follow up book from the RH anthology - the delay makes me wish I'd known those stories were not standalones before reading Falling for them!)
So whats your take on these serial RH novels?

It sucks when that happens. I remember this series
Emma: Part One
Emma: Part Two
Emma: Part Three
that the author never completed even though she still writes under another pen name. It was RH I think. Maybe she had issues with the publisher, I remember a lot of them closed down at the time.
Another one is
Night's Rose
Night's Rose
which the author didn't continue because the publisher didn't want to proceed with the series. This was RH as well (2 heroes). I was hoping the author would self-publish but its been years so not sure what she will do.
Another one was
Hearts of Ishira
This is lovely (and RH - or menage) as well, but the author has serious health issues preventing her from writing a sequel and she is in my prayers.

Guys, RH books I tried were
Past Be Damned which was just okay.
Other recently released RH books that I know of:
Denial: Book 2 in The Seer Series
- which seems to be good. Its a sequel to Lily from the RH anthology.
Loving Them
#Hacker 1.0
A Girl Named Blue: The Adventure Begins
Amy Sumida's
Pride Before A Fall (Book 21 in the Gohunter Series) is also available on Amazon for preorder (comes out on 27th)

Amy Sumida's

Recent RH releases I enjoyed:
The Sacrifice: A Reverse Harem Fantasy
Daimon
Marked by Darkness
All of these had great worldbuilding and romance elements.
Anaya's Pride: A Reverse Harem Love Story has also been well reviewed.

I'll pipe up too as an author and say that I hope you do feel free to say you hate some books, including mine.
Like Cece said, when you publish a book, you KNOW there are going to be people who hate it and people who love it. It's just reality. I don't take negative feedback personally. I see it as a Good Thing.
Like, I have a one star right now on Book 1 of my first RH series, and ratings overall have been meh, but it tells me what readers want and don't want and what I did wrong. All the reviews, opinions, discussion, etc as a collective help me figure out if I should be writing RH in the first place. I write in a few genres, and so do many authors. We can learn what we're good at or not. I write to entertain readers, not to waste their time.
So if you need to boot authors to feel free to discuss books honestly, that makes sense, 'cause I get it about not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings, but I hope y'all don't feel like you shouldn't be able to BLAST a story to smithereens in a forum made for you. I know several authors who stay away from Goodreads because they can't handle the negative stuff. We can choose "not to know" if we feel that way. I absolutely love the honesty of the Goodreads community and would hate for that to go away.

I just want to offer insight to this in case it's not obvious...because I've def. been the victim of this as a reader. When I started writing serials, I found out what was up with that.
It's not that authors lose interest so much. It's that we're trying to make a living by authoring, and just like traditional print publishing, we have to go where the money is. In the time it takes me to write a book that will reach hundreds of readers, I could be reaching thousands. And that's income authors need for, well, life. It's hard to scorn that unless you have other income streams coming in.
So if a book didn't take weeks or months to write, it wouldn't be a big deal to finish a series. But it's kinda like if you told some friends you'd meet up every Saturday for lunch, only to find out you have an opportunity to work on Saturdays and you need the money, so you tell your friends sorry, you have to work. Writing is a hybrid of loving your work and working to live, and sometimes the living means we can't write what our hearts tell us to. :)
So I don't know, does that sound like a cop-out? I feel the pain of unfinished serials, and sometimes it IS simply circumstances, but usually it's that a series isn't performing enough. Even if it looks like it is from the reader's side, it might not be after the expenses of ads, packaging, covers, etc.

This one isn't quite as much sci-fi as some. Modern day with an NFL football team.

hi, this is the link to the Dia series which is RH with three supernatural mates.

These are really good. I enjoyed them a bunch!

@JB Miller, I also enjoy the Dia series. I also have the Dragon series you're publishing(non-RH) and am eagerly waiting for the next instalment!
Other RH books that I've read recently are
Goddess Unbound: A Reverse Harem Fantasy - the final instalment was a bit disappointing for a few reasons but it was still decent.
Meeting Sang: Silas was great as expected!
The RH anthologies :
Falling For Them Volume 2: Reverse Harem Collection
Falling for Them Volume 3: Reverse Harem Collection
Married. Wait! What? (has 1 or 2 RH stories)
had a few good entries.
Amy Sumida's Happily Harem After was good.
I really enjoyed :
The Vixen's Lead - theres torture and abuse though, so I skipped those parts. This book may not be for the squeamish, thought in terms of page count - the parts I skipped didn't affect my enjoyment of the story at all.
Beauty's Beasts which I don't recall the author right now, but its also RH
Didn't particularly enjoy Destiny Be Damned and didn't get past the sample of Dragon's Gift: a Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance
.
Theres lots more new releases of RH books coming up. I will try and keep everyone posted especially the books and authors not mentioned on the facebook group...
I think Lily Harlem is having an RH book out Castaways: Reverse Harem Romance
- she usually writes menage or MF. Established romance authors are stepping into RH. Hopefully they'll be able to pull it off...

Thanks Lucy for understanding the concern. I hope all authors are able to handle frank opinions and come and also share their honest opinion of what they're reading as well. From what I see many RH authors started out as readers who loved the genre so much that they wanted more stories and wrote.
Of course now others are also jumping on to the bandwagon and thats great too.

Sorry, I forgot to add to please post any comment within the book list page [https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/6...] instead of here in our group discussion since it's out of topic.
Nina, I added your comment on the book list since that book doesn't fit the description of the girl ending with all the guys.
Thank you for the help Nina!

I found this book on our group's RH list. The protagonist in the Divinicus Nex Chronicles series only shows interest in one guy. She hangouts with a group of guys but they are just friends. Only one guy in the group shows love interest. Later on from what I understand, the main character shows interest on an outsider but don't know where the author is going with it because it's borderline 'cheating' based on reviews.
It's a really good series but it's just two characters falling in love. Not reverse harem.

The main character of Beatrice Harrow series showed interest in two guys but ends up with one.
Reverse harem in our group means the protagonist surrounded by men as love interest or platonic friendship? I'm confused on what type of RH this group is interested.

If you know the work of Stacey Brutger, it's slow romance but it's really good and the guys are awesome! (so far she has three romantic interests but she might have a couple more in the future)
Yasmin,
RH for this group definitely means a HEA with 1 girl/multiple guys. Nothing platonic about the kind of RH we like, lol.

Was wondering because two books from the groups book list don't have the HEA (Ending up with everyone) at the end.
Probably there is more books without HEA on the list too.
Yasmin,
Can you pls check again. Most of the books that don't fit on the group's listopia (like Divinicus Nex, Beatrice) should now be removed.
If you notice there's any books that still don't fit, please let me know and I will have them pulled.
Thanks!

Awesome!
I will let you know about any other books that aren't HEA (With everyone). I will private message it if you want.

I've just read Four Psychos which is the first book of the 4 books series, if i remember right.
One seriously cool MC & four major a**holes males. Nothing romantic yet (as they are huge ungrateful brats) but it's lots of fun and definitely gonna be a RH :D
The author also says at the end that book 2 is already written, yay!

Please dont any of you ever feel like you can't express yourselves freely, in this group or any others. Authors see comments, both positive and negative, about their books all the time :) we're a thick skinned lot really!
FYI, I'm a reader of the genre too. I love being here for recs as i would hate to miss any new releases. :) (I must have read like 80% of RH books now haha)
I'll just skim over any comments about my book. ;)
