that she and another girl were in a tragic car accident, leaving her braindead and the other girl deceased. Per her story, the girl's brain was transferred to her body. She uses a chewed piece of gum to create a "surgery scar" on her neck. Naturally, the truth is revealed. I read this around 2007, but I feel like the book may have been from the 1980s or 1990s.
