We have several teams in high enough spots to roll past 100 (or get there by using bonus points) next week, so to clarify:
The first team to finish and post reviews for all their books for a spot past 100 wins.
The first team to finish and post reviews for all their books for a spot past 100 wins.

How it fits: Five Hundred Kingdoms #4
When I finish this book we can get the bonus point for never choosing an alternate.

You can already claim it now! The rule is, you get it when you roll past 90. I'll add it to your tally. :)

For that to work, everyone mind Sunshine would need to read by Thursday so we can roll and then if 6 or more, we would need to try to get our last books in quickly, including Sunshine. Thoughts?

I will be done this book before Thursday. And I will figure out a #1 in series that will be a quick read for next week. And if we don't roll past 100, oh well. :D

Cool, thanks Denise.

✸ Re-reads are allowed ( ~EXCEPT on Winning Spots, no re-reads to win)
✸ Page limit: min. 140 pages

So, if everyone post before Thursday, midnight, the roll (if 6+ 🤞🏽) Is 100+ the book can be 1st in the series or standalone, correct?

Week 11, Spot 94

Pages: 408
Date Read: 11/29/20
How it Fits: Five Hundred Kingdoms #4
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I enjoy the setting of the Five Hundred Kingdoms, the idea of the fairy godmothers and how "tradition" tries to force peoples' lives into little boxes. It's very clever and I always enjoy reading these books. This story wasn't quite as enjoyable as the earlier books, but I particularly loved Aleksia as a godmother. Wasn't her fault Lackey surrounded her by duds. :D

Week 11, Spot 94
Sins Of The Father by K. Sterling
Pages: 179
Date Read: 12/2/20
How it Fits: #9 in Boys of Lake Cliff
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: 4.5 Stars. Wow that was unexpected! I love some of the characters in these books (Lavender, Lane and Adrien) but prior to this book I wasn't a huge fan of Paul. However, we really get a chance to see him shine in this book and I walked away adding him to the list of characters in this series I love. I don't want to say too much about the plot because it's one you don't want spoiled. It was entertaining, surprising and of course lots of fun. The last chapter through a whole lot of characters I didn't know so that finale just left me a bit confused as to who they all were. Can't wait for the next one.

Week 11, Spot 94
Taltos by Steven Brust
Pages: 181
Date Read: 12/3/20
How it fits: #4 Vlad Taltos
Rating: 3 stars
Review:I think I have caught one with the ones I read in high school now and can start new plots. This one was fun but also a bit of a mess with all the flashbacks and asides to different time periods. The reader got to see how characters met, but I generally prefer to move the plot along than all the prequal information.

Week 11, Spot 94

Pages: 145
Date Read: 12/4/20
How it fits: #4.5 Jade Calhoun
Rating: 3 1/2stars
Review:
This got better as it went on. its been a wile since i read any of the jade calhoun series and this also being a spin off, it took me a little while to work out who was new and who i should know and what was going on. The plotline was not much but being a novella, it got the job done and introduced the new characters. All in all i did mostly enjoy it and may actually read on further in the series as well as the spinoff

edit = allison ann's bonus point for never reading an alternate takes us to 102

How it fits: Susan Hunter Mystery #1

Week 12, Spot 102

Pages: 145
Date Read: 12/04/20
How it Fits: Susan Hunter Mystery #1
Rating: 2.5 stars
Review: This was more chick lit than mystery. Also, I actually stopped reading at one point to check and see if either the MC or the author was an 18 year old girl. Nope, neither was supposed to be anyway. The story was fine, the idea of going to a different place each book, also interesting. But I can't say I loved the writing. Too much repetition. In 145 pages, I think Susan's pink shoelaces were mentioned at least 10 times and the Reuben sandwiches, 6-7. Doesn't leave much space for the actual story.

Week 12, Spot 102

Love Happens Anyway by R.J. Scott
Fit: stand alone
Read: 12/4/20
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pages: 154
Review: This was a cute story with a nice HEA. I thought it moved at a good pace, although the premise was a bit unbelievable. Around the holiday season, but not very Christmassy.

Completion Post

The Bone Man by Wolf Haas
Pages: 176
Date Read: 12/04/20
How it Fits: Brenner #2
Rating: 2 stars
Review: Well, that was awful. Some of it I admit likely went over my head as I do not know much about the relationship between Austria and the former Yugoslavia. However, the treatment of women and the one trans character were pretty bad and the mystery wasn't really much by the end.

Week 12, Spot 102

Fit: #1 in Witches of keating Hollow series

Pages: 240

A (Fake) Boyfriend for Christmas
Read: 12/5
Pages: 149
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: So much fun! I love the fake boyfriend trope and it really worked in this book. It had humor, great characters (including the secondary characters) and some hot UST. Add in a pushy mother and a boss asking his subordinate to be his boyfriend for the trip home for the holidays and it can't get much better. Yes you know how it plays out but that's doesn't make it any less fun getting there!

All, I have posted our finishing line post on the post your spot thread - is there anything else we need to do.
Also Great reading ladies! "-)

His Favorite Color Is Blood: Coffin Nails MC by K.A. Merikan
Pages: 329
Date Read: 11/27/20
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
How it Fits: # 8 in the series
Rating: 4 stars
Review: yes, this one is a bit different. But, that’s what I expect from K.A. Merikan. Once, I got past Grimm’s fetish, the book was really enjoyable.
