Completion Post
Week 9, Spot 67

Shards of Time by Lynn Flewelling
Pages: 432
Date Read: 11/14/20
How it Fits: Nightrunner #7
Rating: 4 stars
Review: This is the last in the Nightrunner series. The large scale plots ended two books ago and these last two have been more contained and I enjoyed seeing everyone settle down after the war and continue to live life and fight demons, as you do. It was a ghost story adventure with a few ends left undone but overall fun.

How it Fits: Meg Langslow #6

Review: I think this might be my new favourite cozy series. Cadfael has been #1 for so long, but this series entertains me each and every book. Let's call it the favourite contemporary series. :D Meg and her crazy family are kooky and over-the-top but they never annoy me like several other series. Honestly, they remind me of my own family. I've never had 17 people staying in my house, but I'm sure I've broken double digits. And I could desperately use a relative with a man-lift. :D The mystery was great. The yard sale enough to give me hives just thinking of the clutter. I love the relationship between Meg and Michael. She's definitely difficult, but they communicate and he doesn't try to constantly change her. It's so refreshing for a cozy. Loved it. Looking forward to the next book.

Week 9, Spot 67

Ex Meridian by A.E. Via
How it Fits: #7 in Nothing Special
Date Read: 11/17
Pages: 237
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: I know this book is seriously OTT but I love it anyway. It's like going to an action movie you just know the action is going to unbelievable and the good guys will hit everything they shoot at and the bad guys will hit nothing even if they have automatic weapons but you love it anyway. That's this book - two badass guys taking out all the bad guys. Throw in some hot man on man romance/sex and that makes it even better. I really loved Ex and Meridian and the bond they had with each other. The overall plot wasn't as engaging as some of the previous books but I didn't care. I also loved that God, Day and crew played a pretty big role in this book. It was just fun and a great way to just enjoy and listen to the adventure.

So sorry I haven't been checking in, RL is a bit of a mess at the moment.
I did send Denise a PM letting her know this and that I need to drop out so that you guys can keep playing.
Good luck and happy reading!

Sorry about real life Annika. It's definitely a detriment to our reading. Hope things straighten out soon and we see you in another round. Thanks for contacting Denise though, hopefully we can continue on. Take care.

They have 12 1/2 hours to post, so let's hope that's enough time for everyone. :D

Annika, I am sorry real life is a mess and I hope it gets better soon. Best of luck

I started this book of a little confused until I realised I had somehow missed reading book 6 LOL so after mostly remembering who was who, I very quickly got into the rest of the story. There was so much going on in this book and I loved the way the author weaved the threads to involve all the different factions, be it vampires, faeries, necromancers , wizards etc
Definitely my favourite of the series so far and I can't wait to continue on with the series

Well the story is about the MC president's daughter. Astaroth. I don't read a lot a stories about demons and the occult, but the parts of the story that I did like were all of the twist.

Book: Raised in Fire by K.F. Breene
Date Read: 11/22
Rating: 4 Star
Review: I liked this one although it took a bit for the overall plot to really get going. Reagan is a bit OTT and in your face but I still like her. She's brash and a bit crazy but fun to read about. In real life the things Darius does would wig me out but in fiction I can't help but like him as well. Reagan is really coming into her own and discovering how her powers work. I like that her relationship with Darius grew in this book and I like where it's headed. I look forward to the final book in the trilogy to see how it plays out and how Reagan is able to deal with her heritage.

Book: City of Stone and Silence by Django Wexler
Date Read: 11/22
Rating: 4 Star
How it fits: #2 Wells of Sorcery
Review: This was my longest running library book. I checked it out back in Feb before the pandemic shutdown and it was due when everything shutdown, so I felt like I should finally read it. It was a nice middle volume and Tori got developed as a character a lot more. This nice thing is I now have only until Jan for the final one.

How it Fits: Cat In The Stacks #8
Rating: 3 stars
Review: A good mystery and I always enjoy reading about Charlie, Diesel and their life. The title made me think we were going into a jury situation, but nope, just a library conference. :D The murder kept me guessing, the side stories were interesting and not drawn out to the next book. All in all, a quick, enjoyable read.
Unfortunately, it is. The rules state clearly that such a request must be made before the team rolls for the week in question.

Review:
I discovered this series when I picked up book 1 for a reading challenge and i knew as soon as I was done with it, i would be moving on to book 2 so was thrilled it worked for this challenge. This was a really sweet book and I loved the main characters Quinn and Graham. Even though I kind of knew where this story would go, I managed to connect with the characters so i enjoyed the journey to get there as well as the conclusion to the instalment even if it was a little cheesy. I am really loving this series and will definitely be picking up book 3 very soon

May I ask someone please to roll once Sunshine posts her completion?
Many thanks,

You have the time right. :D Seven and a half hours now. I get up for work at 4 a.m. so I'm sadly unable to stay up until midnight to help. Bakers are definitely not party animals. Unless the party happens around noon. ;)
