I have one question-- on the B&W list, there are "additional" books. Can we have the option to substitute one season with a book off of that list? Just suggesting it to make sure those of us who are having a hard time accessing the lib (or if someone is done with all of a season and doesn't want to re-read) can have one sub-in.

Random question--do any of you have creative ways (candles, certain pjs, etc) to get into reading in the same space you're working/living/existing/doing everything because of covid? Figured I'd post this in the fall challenge to encourage us in month 198,374 of 2020 and our new reading challenge.
I have some book-theme candles, but am also looking for additional ideas :)
I have a special chair (from ikea) in the corner of my room that I use only for reading. Listening audio books while doing other things like cleaning also help me to keep up :)

I like sitting at the table over a cup of coffee or tea or curled up in the easy chair by the window with the blinds up so that the sunlight is pouring in through the windows. I reserve e-books (Scribd) for reading in bed or when I'm out and about (like waiting in line at the store).
Hi all! I'm joining quite late, but I just stumbled across this group and couldn't resist this challenge! Hope I'm not too late to join. I'm going to try to read a book from each season:Season 1: Madame Bovary - Gustave Flaubert - finished!
Season 2: Mrs. Dalloway - Virginia Woolf - finished!
Season 3: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - J.K. Rowling
Season 4: Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte - finished!
Season 5: The Second Sex - Simone de Beauvoir (substitute from the additional list)
Season 6: Charlotte's Web - E.B. White
Season 7: The Joy Luck Club - Amy Tan
Quite a lot of classics that I've been meaning to read forever but have never gotten around to. This seems like a great opportunity!

I have made zero progress on this list. Im not sure Im set to read like this. I get most of my books from the library (or my book budget would be hundreds of $$$) so I have to wait a lot.

I can't get the link to work either!
I'm sending out a message tomorrow. We have a new list not broken down by seasons but its a pretty extensive list.
FYI...I say tomorrow because it won't let me mass email or change the description on my phone.
here's the link if you want to look early. https://www.prettyopinionated.com/201...

Thank you!
I've found if you google "books mentioned in gilmore girls" and then put which season you want, lists will come up. Just a tip since half of this challenge is knowing what season a book is from :)
The moment you realize the challenge ends in November and not December is what I am currently experiencing right now, lol. 🙃😳
Don't worry. I haven't read anything from these challenges this time. I got all my holds from the library back to back and I didn't have time to add anything in there. I'm still not finished with much as getting ready for winter is a big task at our place. I read more in winter so I will probably do more for that one.

YAY!!!!!!!!
I'm looking through my planner for the rest of November and trying to finish the ACORN challenge-- you are an inspiration!
Maybe I can do Acorn? The list planning is not working out for me.
I realized that I actually did read one of the books before this!
And I made 2 lists that didn't work out for me because I had to wait on books and they didn't come when I wanted them and yadda , yada, yada.
✔️A-Anna Karenina- Leo Tolstoy (Nov. 7, 2020-I feel like I have been listening to this forever!)
✔️C-Confederacy of dunces- John Kennedy Toole (Oct. 3, 2020)
✔️ O-Oedipus Rex- by Sophicles (Nov. 19,2020-From the new list!)
✔️R-(the) Red tent-Anita Diamont (Nov 13, 2020)
N-Night by Elie Wiesel

I did the ACORN challenge. A: A Street Cart Named Desire by Tennessee Williams
C: Candide by Voltaire
O: How to Breathe Under Water by Julie Orringer
R: The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
N: Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi
Completed November 25, 2020. Loved it. Thanks GG club.
Ahhhh I've finished 2 in the past 2 days... trying to make the sprint to finish ACORN (it'll be one book at the beginning, and then 4 in the last 4 days!) -- I know I don't have to do it, but I loved this challenge so much this summer (it got me through a real rough summer), I really want to complete the fall one!
Update to post #9-- I finished! (and it's only 927p in my time zone, lol). I wasn't able to commit as much with this as I did this summer-- but I'd for sure be up for this challenge for the winter months. Hopefully we'll be headed back to societal normal by the end of that quarter (fingers crossed for vaccine//medical treatment)?
This challenge is really fun, and a perfect distraction.
Didn't manage to finish the whole challenge, but I read three books! Wuthering Heights, Mrs. Dalloway and Madame Bovary. All classics I had been meaning to read for a while but never gotten round to. Still glad that this challenge provided a nice 'push'!
Managed to read one from each season, but not the rest of my list. I agree this is a great motivation to read some books that have been on my shelf for awhile! Season 1 The Bell Jar
Season 2 the Sound and the Fury (this one was HARD for me to get through.....)
Season 3 Encyclopedia Brown- boy detective
Season 4 Wuthering Heights
Season 5 The sun also rises
Season 6 Deenie
Season 7 Eva Luna
I enjoyed 6 of the 7 and some more than others. The Sun Also Rises was a pleasant surprise- enjoyed it more than anticipated.
