#2 in the Innkeeper Chronicles & a pivotal event for the future of the Inn.
It's not necessary to read the debut novel first.

Honestly? It’s not overly interesting.

This series have been written in an episodic manner. It's still fun to read then out of sequence.

The Bottoms by Joe R. Lansdale

This is the only installment so far in the series that's written in Maud's POV. All the others have been from Dina's perspective. This can be read as a standalone.

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson
Dangerous Liasons by [author:Pierre Choderlos..."
I really enjoyed Dangerous Liaisons when I read it in college, after watching the excellent movie version. I'm going to try Cryptonomicon next year so I'll look forward to hearing what you think. It's an intimidating book!

I still have The Big Nowhere, Cross of Iron, Child of a Mad God, and Here Be Dragons open on my currently reading shelf. I have requested Cross of Iron through the interlibrary loan system but have not received it yet. I was a bit more than a third of the way through it when I had to give it back.
I got really bored with The Big Nowhere but, since I am about 80% of the way through it I will probably pick up an audio version and finish it. As for the other two, we'll see.
But I started rereading Tripoint The Company Wars book 6 by C. J. Cherryh simply because I saw it in my book shelf and cannot remember reading it. I know I did read it, but I am nearly finished with it and still rings no bells. But it has made me want to reread the entire series, plus the related Chanur series. We'll see on that later, though.

This was my first novel by Sally Hepworth. This was well written but domestic thrillers might not be for me.

Written by a doctor, this book isn't a typical "diet" book.

Hoping that The Night Circus can bring me back some reading joy. lol

I've been on a long Ilona Andrews reading spell. I've
had to dig deep into their bookshelves to find more books. This is the beginning of The Edge series, and it had been published around the same time as their first Kate Daniels novel.
My Review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This is the second in The Edge series, and I liked this more than it's predecessor. It's not necessary to read the debut novel before this one.

I started reading Downbelow Station, actually was listening to the audiobook on YouTube but that listing ended at Part 8 so now I am waiting to get a hard copy from the library so I can finish it.
Also still waiting to get a copy of Cross of Iron to finish it. Nor do I have copies of Child of a Mad God and Here Be Dragons but I have not yet requested them from the library.
I did start reading A Rising Thunder and am about 160 pages into it. I also have just acquired a copy of the audiobook version of The Dark Hours and have started listening to it.

This doesn't feel like a pure urban fantasy, but more like a crime caper overlaid with some fantasy elements.
