I am currently reading Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. It is very sophisticated and a challenge to read because of how intellectual it is down to the topics, ideas and words.

If someone can help me understand this sentence I would really appreciate it, "As Freud described in Civilization and Its Discontents, society has had to enforce from without rules meant to subdue tides of emotional excess that surge too freely within".

I finished my 22nd book of the year. It was “tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow” I enjoyed it very much. I just started the “astonishing Color of after” it is going little slow but it is an interesting book. It is getting better and better. On the side as a lighter fun book I am reading “ wedding date” it is a little disappointment so far. Nothing special about it.

Society has rules to stop people creating an emotional mess but people don't always obey the rules so society has to police them.

i was finally able to get off the waitlist for A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, which i'm reading for another book club challenge. it's amazing so far and i'm enjoying it a lot more than i thought i would, so much so that i think i'm going to actually go through with finishing the entire series which is something i almost never do!

If you're a fan of Leigh Bardugo, then go ahead and pick up Hell Bent #2 in the Alex Stern eventually-to-be trilogy.

It's been a while since I had read a novel that completely gripped me from the beginning. It only took 7 pages for Hell Bent to sink its claws into me.

I've got to look into the Grishaverse now.
