I'm currently reading The Queen of Nothing! Very excited :)

It's not YA, but I'm reading Hannibal. Yeah, the one with the cannibal killer that has a pretty good horror/thriller show...

AND IT IS SO BAD.

I don't get it. I don't understand. How. The book keeps changing tense mid scene from present tense to past tense (incredibly jarring), the descriptions are weird and contrived, and it keeps sprinkling in random horny bits. I get that that's a thing in erotica or even some mildly erotic books that like to build up to their steamy scenes, but this book is otherwise completely un-steamy. It's just random sentences, like a cop exhausted from his workday will think about how hot his wife is. And then the book continues with the regular story. Not to mention scenes like the one where a character wins over an entire board of people by reciting one Italian poem, some prime #menwritingwomen material, or how hilariously ridiculous the bad guy's plan is, though I won't spoil that here.

I'm also reading Trials of Apollo, at least that's good. And I started to read a Japanese short novel, but since I'm still learning, I'm very slow with that.
