krista ☽✧ (bookishwarriorofhope) | 168 comments Yes it is so amazing right ? I especially love the concept and theme and moral grey theme of monsters of verity. The ending killed me tho and made me want to throw the book against the wall like 10 times 😂😩😩 vicious is good , but to me it felt like it could be better I missed the spark you know? Definitly also want to pick up her darker shades of magic triology

message 102: by Amelie (new)

Amelie | 1656 comments I agree, I absolutely loved how Monsters of Verity is such a dark series that really makes you question what’s right and wrong. I’ve actually read the first book of the A Darker Shade of Magic series and it was really good, I’d highly recommend it! I’m definetely planning on continuing the rest of the series sometime.

message 103: by krista ☽✧ (new)

krista ☽✧ (bookishwarriorofhope) | 168 comments Oooh that sounds good , definitly want to pick it up. And yes exactly it makes you question things and you see different sides of the story wich I loved. How did you feel about the ending of our dark duet ?

message 104: by Amelie (new)

Amelie | 1656 comments It definetely saddened me, but it was meaningful to the story, and made the book so much more impactful. Kate was my favourite character though :(

message 105: by paola✨ (new)

paola✨ I'm currently reading The Cruel Prince and it's definitely something. I hate the prince so much what's his name again Cradan?

message 106: by krista ☽✧ (new)

krista ☽✧ (bookishwarriorofhope) | 168 comments Haha aaaah I also hated Cardan somuch in the first book like so so so much. But throughout the triology he has grown on me and many others I think👀

message 107: by paola✨ (new)

paola✨ I hope he has character development, I'm still early in the book and trying to get used to the characters. I just want the main character to kick his ass. Argh, I even forgot her name.

hahaha , Jude is a great MC. She is really something else and very morally grey. If you enjoy morally grey charracters and a moral grey hate hate love ish relationship and a lot of backstabbing and politics then i think you will like this book :)

I have readed the baringer books so far and the dark elements and i have to say you should try it. I think it is either a hate or love for people because it does have tropes that she does every book like enemies to lovers , a lot of banter , sassy love intrest. But she does it in a really good special own way in my opinion so i do really love that. Her books are just really great fun fast reads , they are so easy to read and get lost in. They have a fast plot but still depht , i would say definitly try and see if it is your thing :)

Elisa_Bookaholic (book-queen) Okay, so right now is my first time reading A Court of Thorns and Roses and it is pretty good. It is interesting and the characters are well built up in my opinion. I am not that far through and it is taking me soo long to finish because I keep stopping to analyze every sentence, lol. Has any one else here read this book?

YES the court of thorns and roses triology is my fav triology of all time. I love sarah as a writer [ totally get why some people wont but i love her and her writing] the second and third book are especially really good and turns everything arround , but you will get what i mean once you get to those. I hope you will love it. I just feel like the triology does such a great job at charracters and it is such a strong and important story overall about struggeling and hope.

IKR, how is Leigh going to resolve all those issues at the end!? And I really want to know what the title of the next book is going to mean. Like maybe it has something to do with Trassel...

Armentrout so we will see , i kinda set my expetations high. So far i am 200 pages in and i do feel like it is a little slow so far i feel like i am waiting for big thinks to happen and for the story to suck my in that hasn't happend yet. I do think Poppy her gift is very intresting so far and i need more of Hawke.

fish (haitangs) | 172 comments That's on my tbr list! I never read Jennifer L. Armentrout's stories, curious about them but never had the chance to read them.

I heard so many great things about from blood and ash, and all of my trusted book reviewers actually liked it so I will start reading it when 2021 starts

I did read the sark elements triology by her wich i loved a lot , definitly reccoment that one aswell , it kinda reminds me of sarah j maas her books. It is a great combination in this case of urban fantasy and such a great romance. Also readed her habringer series and loved that one aswell same case as dark elements its the prequel to the dark elements triology :)

i really wanna read that one , so far i only readed the infernal devices tho and i heard of people that you need to read Tmi first before lady midnight and that triology but like i have no intrest in reading timi mainly bc i watched the show and hated clary and jace somuch... so i honestly just dont know what to do , what is your opinion on that? should i read tmi first , is it worth reading or can i just start lady midnight

Also if anyone else has advise for me just let me go because i just dont know what to do haha

message 146: by Lucy Tonks, Shadowhunter - Head of BOTM (new)

Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) | 2037 comments the tv show is different from the books. like WAY different. i could not watch more than the first season of the tv show. tmi is the weakest cassandra clare series, but i still love it. and lady midnight is a MASTERPIECE. even if you don't like tmi as much as tid (which i don't think you will), it really is worth finishing tmi just to read tda.

Thanks for the advise Lucy:) But i do need to read TMI before lady midnight , you cant read lady midnight before readong tmi serie?

message 148: by Lucy Tonks, Shadowhunter - Head of BOTM (new)

Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) | 2037 comments not really, since the end of city of heavenly fire is pretty much connected to lady midnight. although there is a 5 year gap between the two series, they are very connected, like the main characters from tda are present in city of heavenly fire and that way we kinda see why the things are the way they are in tda.
