I finished reading it last week. It was very reminiscent of her "It's Not Over" series. The hero and heroine reminded me very much of Red and Malcolm. It was written in the same style as the other series i.e. switching from one to another character's perspective to relate the tale. Sometimes it worked, but sometimes it was a bit distracting.

Now that I'm sticking my toe back into the IR pile, good to see more good recs from authors unknown to me. That CREE by LaShawn Vasser especially keeps getting buzz.

You would think the app would show covers too, since it's key Goodreads feature.

I have to say that's the one thing missed since switching to ebooks. The anticipation of that big box of goodies. Plus the feel and look of actual books. Not enough to give up my ereader, but still get the appeal.

message 235: by BrokenAngelxxx (new)

BrokenAngelxxx (cocoabutterfly23) | 40 comments I agree...there's nothing like the feel of a paperback in your hands. I do have a nook, but I prefer physical books as well. I'm gonna devour all the interracial romances I ordered over the 6 week break. I really want beast by pepper pace though

I also miss bookstores. Especially ones with coffee shop inside. For years that was my description of a perfect Saturday.

I didn't know this series was IR. Are all the titles, or just this one? If so, can they be read as standalones?

BrokenAngelxxx (cocoabutterfly23) | 40 comments so I'm about to start reading "the chocolate run" by Dorothy koomson. four of my books that I ordered from thriftbooks.com came in the mail today so I'm super excited. I'm just waiting on the other 12 books to be delivered. I've read all the reviews on the chocolate run so I'm excited to get into it. I also ordered no commitment required by seressia glass, burn by crystal hubbard, marshmallows for breakfast, etc. Most of my books are interracial so I'm super excited. I can't wait to order beast by pepper pace

Frances: I love this book -- it's funny and it's action-packed. I borrowed it from a friend and I loved it so much that I bought it to add to my book collection. I've been working on a book review for a while and will post it (hopefully) soon. I'm excited to see who's up next from The Brood team that will be featured in Book 2.

Tamekia | 87 comments Her Russian Beast by Theodora Taylor -I received an ARC for an honest review.
All of the previous stories weaved into this epic intense but oh so amazing love story. And wow! just wow!-she works it. This is my favorite book in this series...so far. I loved how strong willed & determined Thel was, it worked well with Bair's alpha maleness. Mother Marion was a hoot -enjoyed learning more of her backstory as well.
I am anticipating Ivan's story in 2016 though!

All of the books feature interracial couples except for book 3. I think you would definitely have to read all of the books in order to understand what's going on.
