D1: I interpreted this as the Earth eating an alien. I see now it's the moon. People from Earth went to an alien planet in The Sparrow, so that's my tie in. Really though, The Sparrow fits so many of these.
D4: the perfect fit, this is the story of a Syrian refugee, and many days could have easily been the day of her death, but "not today"

Could someone explain to me this 200 pages thing? Is it just for every 200 pages read, regardless of what book it's from? Are we meant to be counting the book for two squares that it works for thematically, or does it just give us a freebie? I'm very confused!

Object: Read a book that is somehow connected to each of the designs in the Bingo board. What you consider a "win" is up to you. If you want to take on a big challenge then go for a full card. If that's a bit much for you, then go for some of the other Bingo patterns: 4 down/across, 4 corners, postage stamp, etc.
How can my book connect to the image? The connection can be anything that you can reasonably explain. That means you can connect colors on your cover, words in the title, or content/theme of the design. See the first comment for some examples. Be creative!
What about pages? For every 200 pages read, you earn the ability to count a book for two squares
