Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yey, managed to read one chapter.

Kindle is saying 7 hr left, so, I guess I'm done for this round.

I must say, I never... EVER... read as many books in 2 weeks. Sure, most were under 250 pages... even so... it was a lot!

Do we have a team cut off for today?
One that gives you gals the time you need to get all the books in order?
Something under the eight hours that are left?

Sammy and Sonia both have keys and logins to run the cloning machine as well, so we can work around the clock! :P

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Ok, thanks Steven, I will pester them, if you are not around, when I see spectacular specimens on our travels.

message 723: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to round two, which finds the Hogwarts Express crossing the North Sea (hey, magic is a really useful tool!) on our way to Scandinavia.

Scandinavia of course is the name we use for a group of countries in Northern Europe, which include countries like Denmark, one of the historical homes of the Vikings; fierce warriors that settled all over Europe, carving a home for themselves wherever they landed....

description

And Sweden. A country known for many things, including its massages and luxurious spa treatments.

We hope you enjoy your time here in Scandinavia, and have fun reading your books for round 2!

That, I am. Plus, her team had the same tags last round that we have for this, so we can always ask for recs there too.

message 732: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yeah...I feel your pain.... Eni and the little minion are playing Lego Ninjago at the PS4 next door and it's quite distracting. But she's not reading, so I'm taking advantage of it.

Guess who grabbed an audiobook and colouring pencils?

*happy*

message 734: by Linda C (new)

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 913 comments Task 115 - Read a book with circles on the cover
does it need to be multiple circles?

I have World's Fair by E.L. Doctorow which has 1 prominent circle - will that work for that task?

message 735: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments I had one teen playing thrash metal on his electric guitar, while the other was playing indi pop stuff on her acoustic at the same time. All the while hubby has been yapping on the phone all day.

I NEED this stoopid virus to go get lost and let lockdown be over already! lol.

Still interested in the answer, but it won the National Book Award for Fiction, so I'll use that instead

message 737: by Alison (Lady Coffin) (last edited Jun 27, 2020 09:19AM) (new)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Linda, I have no real idea, but as it is "circles" in the plural, I would guess no. Sorry
But hey, that is just my opinion.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Linda I believe since the task does say circles and its plural that it would mean more than 1 circle.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments I'm having such a hard time checking for shelves with my current books with the shortcut. Not sure if it has to do with my wifi or GR isn't being friendly today :(

Likely also these words. I found Umbrella had very few, and bacteriA was mostly non-fiction.
I think the game list was short, but had a few that are possible.
Found a couple options with Turkey and Poison.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments What I found and am considering

Umbrella, only found Mary Poppins

Games:
The Night Circus, Caraval, Press Start to Play etc... (books tagged games)

Turkey:
The Night Circus, Inferno, Murder on the Orient Express, etc... (books tagged turkey)

Poison:
The Cruel Prince, the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley, The Count of Monte Cristo, re-read of Study series, etc... (books tagged poison)

Elena | 1403 comments Hi team! Hope everyone's weekend is going well. We spent most of the day at nephew's graduation party, just came back very full and a little sleepy :) It was fun, but I'm ready for some quiet time finally :)

I'm going to read a Flavia book for poison tag, and I found Un Lun Dun for umbrella, which also works for U (double score!!)

Had to go look up what Un Lun Dun was about, looks interesting, but may hold off on reading it for a Z word, with the MC and all.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments I'm reading Titus Groan for poison :)

taking a break from Infinite Jest, because it may supposedly be a comedy, but I'm finding it incredibly depressing, lol.

But Sammy, that looks very dark and gothic. Hope it does not make you more depressed.

Oh that book has been on my TBR for ages and I need it for another challenge. I probably won't start it until the 1st because I have a few other books to try and power through before month's end. But thanks for pointing it out!

Edit - add:

Bummer -- no audio. I have the paperback and reading "real" books it getting harder and harder with my schedule.

I might have to start it sooner to make it through that many pages anytime soon. lol

Dark and Gothic yes, but not depressing. I enjoyed it, though not as much as I'd hoped.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Good evening everyone. We're south-bound once again as we make our way through The Netherlands!

It's a country small in area, but big in impact. Besides being known for its relaxed attitude towards certain recreational drugs, The Netherlands was also the first country in the world to allow gay marriage.

Despite it's extremely flat landscape, there are a great many interesting things to see here...
