Silly, but fun.

Betelgeuze | 158 comments I love the Elemental Assassin series as well. I've read the first two books of the Jane Yellowrock series as well, but somehow I lost interest in the main character.

On the UF front I've mostly been catching up on series and have read:

Mind Magic (World of the Lupi, #12) by Eileen Wilks Vengeance of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #7) by Diana Rowland A Deafening Silence in Heaven (Remy Chandler, #7) by Thomas E. Sniegoski Bitter Bite (Elemental Assassin, #14) by Jennifer Estep Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop Reap the Wind (Cassandra Palmer, #7) by Karen Chance Staked (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #8) by Kevin Hearne Burned (Alex Verus, #7) by Benedict Jacka One Good Dragon Deserves Another (Heartstrikers, #2) by Rachel Aaron Stiletto (The Checquy Files, #2) by Daniel O'Malley The Perdition Score (Sandman Slim, #8) by Richard Kadrey Grave Visions (Alex Craft, #4) by Kalayna Price An Unhuman Journey (Only Human #2) by Candace Blevins Flight from Mayhem (Fly by Night, #2) by Yasmine Galenorn

I'm beginning to lose a bit of interest in the Kara Gillian and the Iron druid series. I did not like Unhuman journey as much as the first in the series. Rachel Aaron (one good dragon deserves another) also wrote a very good epic fantasy series (the Legend of Eli Monpress). I still very much enjoy the Sandman Slim and the Alex Verus series. I highly recommend the Checquy Files by Daniel O'Malley

Wow great collection of UF books!! I'll have to look into the ones I haven't read yet!

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) finished Storm Glass (Glass, #1) by Maria V. Snyder wasn't as good as I had been hoping.

I finally started Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo so far not disappointed!

message 558: by Anne (new)

Anne | 318 comments I just started reading Fire Wolf CINAED (New Scotia Pack #3) by Victoria Danann - I loved the first two books in this series.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) finished Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo . Six of Crows was amazing! I was a little apprehensive because I'm not the biggest fan of Leigh's other series, The Grisha. But I absolutely love how she wrote this one, the characters were brilliant, the politics corrupt and evil, just the way I like them and the world filled with all kinds of beliefs, cultures and other interesting tidbits. Really a fantastic start to a new series, can't wait to get my mitts on book 2!!

Starting The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook , I didn't re-read the blurb before I dumped myself into this world and found myself utterly confused. But about 15 pages in and I think I'm starting to get it......

Finishing Stiletto (The Checquy Files, #2) by Daniel O'Malley

I wonder why they moved back from the July release date. I dislike it when publishers do that.

If you are looking for the audio, that won't be releasing the same day. They announced that on their blog last week.

message 569: by Alisa (last edited Aug 22, 2016 09:40PM) (new)

Alisa I read Magic Binds (Kate Daniels, #9) by Ilona Andrews and loved it. It was SO good.

Also read this romantic suspense series that has paranormal elements (they're psychic etc) They were actually pretty good (caught me by surprise tbh...i only tried them cuz I was on vacation w/my kids and desperate for an audiobook to block out the noise and this series is free on KU) Anyways......bad parenting aside, I thought the heroines were especially well done. I also like that they were all romance readers and there are some funny references to BDB etc. Forged in Fire (Red-Hot SEALs, #1) by Trish McCallan Forged In Ash (Red-Hot SEALs, #2) by Trish McCallan Bound by Seduction (Red-Hot SEALs, #2.5) by Trish McCallan Forged in Smoke (Red-Hot SEALs, #3) by Trish McCallan

I'm currently listening to The Getaway God (Sandman Slim, #6) by Richard Kadrey on audio

I'm in the mood for a zombie book and I have one that I came across but now can't find it. Of course it's not on my zombie shelf where it should be. Grrrr..... So if anyone has any good zombie books feel free to recommend.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I got sucked into The Lady is a Vamp (Argeneau, #17) by Lynsay Sands last night. This is why I enjoyed the Argeneau series I am glad to being back to better books because The Reluctant Vampire (Argeneau, #15) by Lynsay Sands kinda sucked.

There are some that are duds in the series. But quite frankly I've come to expect that with any long run series.

message 578: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments True, some are just more entertaining than others.

message 579: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I finished Gods of the Dead (Rising, #1) by Tracey Ward which I ended up really liking. It was just a randomly picked zombie book cuz it was on Kindle Unlimited. It's the first in a trilogy but there are two other trilogies set in the same world by this author so I'm off to read them.

message 580: by Debbie (new)

Debbie M | 24 comments I'm stuck! I have a ton of books on my "to-read" list but "eh" don't feel any of them. Really trying not to start yet another series because i'm into too many now. Debating on re-reading something......I just don't know!

I read a lot of good things in terms of the reviews, but it just didn't click. I'm not sure if it was the writing, characters, or just a mix of the two. I Tried though :/

Robyn (aiiro_pearl) Sandra wrote: "Yes, me too, but everyone is different :)

I finished it up a while ago and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a new take and idea for the genre and I plan to read the rest.

Their characters, Jane Yellowrock and Gin Blanco, did a fun series of interviews together.
