You describe exactly the dreary, corny, obvious, annoying things I dislike. But you say most books are worth it anyway? Well... like I said: I'm going to try Night Pleasure. And if I like that, I'll proceed reading the series cause I want to know who this Zarek and Acheron are everybody's raving about :)

I started Witchling
and I am having a hard time getting into it, I may have to switch it out with something else. Oh well.
another one down. And I have the Homecoming dress cut out and ready to be basted. :o)
1. Orange Night Prayers by P. D. Cace
2. Red Fanged and Fabulous by Michelle Rowen
3. . Brown Viking Heat by Sandra Hill
4. . Green Leader of the Pack by Karen MacInerney
5.. Black My Wicked Vampire by Nina Bangs
6. . Yellow The Renegade Hunter by Lynsay Sands
7. . Purple Stakes and Stilettos by Michelle Rowen
8. . Pink Dragons prefer Blondes by Candace Havens
9. . Blue Witch in the House by Jenna McKnight
This one isn't quite as good as the previous book in the series. I'm not quite sure why I didn't like it as much. Maybe because there wasn't enough interaction with the dragons???? The first book had a lot more interaction with the demons that that sister was supposed to protect Earth from. This one you just get dragons popping up here and there and trying to kidnap humans. NO fun at all. 3 out of 5 stars

How did you like Born of Night?
Kelly wrote: "How did you like Born of Night?"It was pretty good! Dragged on a bit with conflict between the main characters, but at 560 pages it can't all be action. I love everything by Sherrilyn Kenyon, though, so I might be a little biased... :)
btw all--if no one has checked back on Sept's list, we have read 2436 books for this challenge as of the end of Sept. That was after the updates for the few people who hadn't made it onto GR before the totals were posted originally. Not too shabby is it? :o)
speaking of missing the deadline--what was with GR taking down the site for so long on the 30th? For those of us on the East Coast it didn't go back up til 2 a.m. which was too late to hang around waiting to post totals. (I know cause Oz whined to me about it.) :oP

Just finished Dark Prince and have to say - boo hiss! Maybe if I'd read it 10 years ago I'd have loved it but since I've read so many PNRs that are so much better I just couldn't feel the Carpathian love.
Looloo wrote: "Just finished Dark Prince and have to say - boo hiss! Makes me glad I read them when I did, back when they came out. But it also makes me wonder how I'd feel if I ever got around to rereading them. I enjoyed them at the time though and there's so many other things to read that I doubt I'll ever revisit them. I've heard that the newer novels in the series are better though, for what it's worth.
This is my first time participating in the challenge. Here is my list...Ana

Forgot to add my review of Halfway to the Grave, so I'll add it now.
Halfway to the Grave: Great book. Nice amount of suspense and romance. Loved Bones! He is my idea of the perfect man. he's sweet but not the wimpy, dorky sweet, confident without being too cocky, and drop dead gorgeous (pun intended).
One Foot in the Grave: Not quite as good as the first one, but still a great book. It had an even amount of scream-at-the-characters parts, wish-that-type-of-romance-was-real parts, and is-it-hot-in-here moments. Looking forward to the next book.
I just have to add this. After 5 months of trying for another child we found out yesterday that I am finally pregnant!

Two down
seven left to go. World War Z was a reread for me thus rather quick.
Now I'm on to Betsy the Vampire Queen in Undead and Unwed. Funny so far. =D
Edit: Congratulations Trish!! I'm rooting for no morning sickness! =)
Congratulations Trish. I second the no morning sickness and wish you all the best :)Btw: I didn't like the second Night Huntress Book either. I feel that the series is great whenever it's the Cat&Bones show but it seems like Frost can't handle secondary characters. We hardly get to know or invest in other chraracters and they are either not memorable or fall completely flat. Frankly, I think the series is overrated.
I know I'm making a lot of enemies now...

Also, when doing the strikethrough, you must end the strikethrough using the backet slash s bracket. :)
Hope that helps!

Good luck and happy reading, everyone!
Congrats Trish. And I'll third (or fourth or whatever) the wish for no morning sickness. Altho that was always how I knew when I was pregnant. I would start morning (misnamed--it was 24 hour a day) sickness the day AFTER I'd get pregnant I think. I wouldn't have even missed a period and I'd start the sickness. Oz is the only baby I carried even close to term (she was 6 weeks early) and in between labour pains I was STILL suffering from morning sickness. That is NOT a fun thing, believe me.
Sigh, I gotta get some library books read before getting back to the challenge. I have 30 checked out right now. So, off to read my library books.
