Did you read it in Australia or the United States?
I read it here in the states, Borders bookstore had it front and center in the children’s section back in 2005 when I picked it up spontaneously and went back again months later to get book #2 in the series, so I feel like it was published in 2005. Such a shame it’s so difficult to find. 😕 And sadly it’s not that book either I don’t think. (Can’t find a cover of that one online you suggested.)
I don’t remember a whole lot about book #2 besides it being a continuation of her talking about her daily life. I’ll see if I can think of any other details though.
Do you remember when or where it was set? Was it more country farming etc or more city. Did it seem to be more historical or more modern? This can narrow it down a lot!
It was very modern (think like diary of a wimpy kid or captain underpants / dear dumb diary kind of modern, for 2005 at least.) and what I imagine to be in a city setting, she was a hip little sarcastic girl, I remember thinking she was funny back then. Hope this helps some!

For years I’ve been trying to rack my brain on what this book was called. To give a little bit of context, I read this book back in 2005. It was in the style of a diary much like the series (Amelia’s Notebook) with the lined pages and “handwritten” font. It was about a little girl living in Australia talking about her daily life. I can remember the cover so vividly as well, she had black pigtails and wore a hat I’m almost certain. I want to say the cover was purple. It was very colorful inside the pages with lots of doodles etc, not sure if any of this helps any but that’s all I remember unfortunately. I can try and provide a few more details if I can think of anymore if need be. Thank you for your help!
