Do you guys think I will like "The Betrothed" if I liked "The selection"?

The Betrothed just came out today but it is about royalty so there is a good chance u will like it if u liked the section

Yeah! the first book had a lot of adorable moments. I loved all the awkward little scenes between Maxon and America. From their first meeting to the first misunderstandings (view spoiler)I also love when Maxon tries to show affection but doesn't know how to so he ends up being kinda awkward but it's cute.
Maxon is literally prime bf material 10/10 would date.I also like how the author doesn't neglect the "backstage" drama between the girls too because that is just as crucial to developing the story and the characters as well as the romance.

I totally agree. I feel like the "backstage" drama between the girl was just that little extra, that made the story great. And also Maxon is just amazing haha
Oh yeah, it was so entertaining to see them fight for either the crown or the prince. At the same time though, I loved seeing the friendships slowly forming between some of them.

same! I loved seeing now the relationships built "behind the scenes" in a way, that was really fun to read about.

I love love love reading Maxon's novella and comparing it side by side with the actual book because then you see the scenes from both POVs and it's so cute comparing them....
Same! I usually don't like novellas but obviously Maxon was an exception. In the selection, he seemed so confident in the beginning, we only saw the mask that America saw. In the novella, we got to see more of his anxieties and the feelings behind the mask and I totally devoured it

But in case do you recommend it? keep in mind it is probably 2 years since I read the series, but I might buy them as I borrowed them at the time and I want to re-read them.
Hmm... I think most people didn't like book 4&5 because it was a different story with new characters. The novellas, however, are about the characters we already know and love so you should totally check those out. I bought the "happily ever after" book that contains all of them and loved it but that was when the story was fresh in my mind so idk, I would recommend a reread if you want to try those. But if you just loved Maxon and want his POV you can totally just read his novella without a re read :)
I loved when America had Maxon imagine being a Six or lower, imagining starving and sacrificing everything for his family. That part was so intense and I loved how it was written

It is supposed to be both Aspen and Maxons novellas in one book so I think I'm going to check it out. I am already planning on buying the first 3 book, as I don't own them atm, and re-read them

Happily ever after includes an epilogue to the one and the crown, as well as four novellas and some extra scenes
And the prince and the guard is just those two novellas.

happily ever after has 4 novellas (including the prince and the guard, but it also has one about Queen Amberly and one about Marlee), a bonus epilogue to The One, and some extra content as well. I'd buy HEA because it gives you more content for what I'm guessing will be a similar price (just a few dollars more), but I don't know how much just the prince and the guard are so if you're looking price wise then I'd consider that. That's just my opinion.
And don't worry about it- ask as many questions as you'd like :)

I think some copies do. I saw it in my friends, not mine

Do you guys know where I can find the short stories about what happened to the other girls of The Selection? I saw someone say there was a short story about Celeste and Kriss and maybe someone else.
