Hello! I've never added quotes to books before (I'm new to goodreads) and so I added a quote to a book. I thought I messed up the quote, so I deleted it. Turns out I posted the quote properly and so I added the quote again. Now there is two of the same quote on the author's page. One is attached to my name and the other is nameless (because I deleted it from my quotes) T_T Oops. Could I have the first quote deleted please? At least I know how this system works now lol Thank you so much for your help!!

The correct text is as follows:

".....Tudo que nele havia de generosidade, de entusiasmo, de eloquência, de coração, de alma, de furor, de ira, de amor, de inexprimível dor se resumia a isto: um acesso de riso!..." - eleventh line.

At present it is written "dor de resumia a isto: um acesso de riso!" instead of "dor se resumia a isto: um acesso de riso!". Just a wrong letter. But it's in Portuguese so if it is hard to localize the error, it is ok just to delete it.

On GR, quotes are not attached to a specific edition, but to the 'work', which is all combined editions and translations. When adding a quote, you'll have to select the 'default' edition, that is the most popular edition and the one that is showing on the author's page. I've added the English edition to all the Victor Hugo quotes with the tag 'O Homem Que Ri'.

I deleted the two quotes without likes. We do not delete quotes that have likes. Also, all editions of a book have to have the original author listed as primary in order for the books to be combined correctly in the system.

Several of the quotes have a stray extra word added beyond the final full stop as the result of what is presumably a cut/paste error. The passage beginning "In the great court..." has an extra 'Early' at the end. The passage beginning "Driving in clouds of dust..." has an extra 'The' at the end. The passage beginning "At midnight" has an extra 'By' at the beginning (my fault).
The passage beginning "he was no mountaineer" has an extra 'An' at the end, but as the following quote is of the same passage but longer I would guess that this was someone's attempt to correct the above error, and that the incomplete duplicate should be deleted altogether.
