I have to start over for at least half of these series.
It varies, but I do a lot of audio books so that helps.
I reread books for the experience, to remember the fine details, reevaluate how I see the characters then vs now, and to just remember the story like reconnecting with a long lost friend.
I'm starting the new year off with these three books planned for January. Storm Front Beginning of the Series

You should really listen to them as James Marsters aka Spike from Buffy narrates them. I am already half done with book 1 of Artemis Fowl and might do book 2 as well. Another great narrator.

I have not forgotten my original challenge. I managed to read 8 books from my list. I also decided to cut back on Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series as the only books I haven't read are the last two. I will be reading the final three again later this year.
I fully get that. Just updated my list. Currently listening to book 6 of the Fowl series. Might not do the Hollows series this year. We'll see.
So I sort of fell into a series and finished it within a week so I added it. In the past month (has it only been a month?) I've finished two series, and made it past the halfway mark on the Kitty series. I have no idea how this happened, but it did. 3 series completed. Yay!!!
4 Series completed. I keep finding new series that I start and want to continue. But I'm determined to finish the Kitty Norville series and get caught up on Dresden Files.

Major update. Sad to say I may not finish the Kitty series this year. Butcher has kept me busy.

I am not going to finish the Kitty Norville series this year. No way to get it and other books done in 10 days. But I managed to finish 2 more books and in the middle of Thirteen. Skin Game will be next.

Yeah, but weren't your series like 20 plus books per series? Kitty and Dresden were the longest ones I had to read. Luckily Kitty is still fresh enough I can continue it. If I read the Otherworld series from start to end I'd only have 1 major series done.

I decided I'm calling it complete and book 5 will go into my 2016 pile. The only reason is I mainly do audiobooks and found this series by looking for an I Spy book "Poison" The last book's audio version took 6 months to be released. That would make this series incomplete or I just call it done and wait for next year. Which I decided I'm going to do, Many series for next year will be 1 book bits to help me stay on top of the series I did this year.
I just updated my 2016 to read post. I have 8 to 9 series I plan to read. Lucky me 3 only have 1 book to be back up at completed.
