This is probably the only prompt I'll be checking off with a re-read. 'The Phantom Tollbooth' by Norton Juster is one of my all-time favorite reads, childhood or otherwise. My mom bought this book for me and my brother. The three of us read it out loud together, taking turns reading each chapter. So not only is it a great book, but it has good memories attached.
I'm probably going to do The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. My uncle first read it to me when I was 7 and I went a solid 3 months refusing to read anything but The Little Prince. I haven't read it since I was 13, so I'm super excited to reread it!
I also love The Little Prince. I have 3 copies - English, French, and a pop-up book. I've read it too many times to use it for this challenge though.

The Little Prince, along with Jonathan Livingston Seagull, are my favorite books...ever!! I read them in my 10th grade English class and feel in love with them. Is 10th grade too old to be considered "childhood"?
I think I will reread "A Wrinkle In Time" for this prompt. I know I read it when I was a kid and I remember liking it, but I don't remember anything about it. My favorite books from childhood are the Chronicles of Narnia, but I've read all of them so many times I wouldn't want to use them for this challenge.
I'm reading A Wrinkle in Time right now with my son, he's in 7th grade was assigned this for Language Arts. But I never read it before so I don't think it will count. I'm thinking of reading a Paula Danziger or Judy Blume book.

I've also considered A Dog Called Kitty because Bill Wallace was my first favorite author and I loved that book so much.
I just read 'A Wrinkle inTime' for the first time a few months ago. It was pretty good. I will eventually have to read the others in the series.
I think I am going to choose to read The Giver. Ever since they have been advertising the movie I have wanted to reread it. I read it in the 4th grade I think.
I am going Roald Dahl...just to narrow down which one...one of my teachers when I was younger absolutely loved his works and we did many class projects. Also my Dad and I read and re-read Charlie and the Chocolate factory before bedtime.

How on earth did I forget about Roald Dahl?! Thanks, Leanne!
I loved The Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene du Bois. Ooh, and Charlotte's Web. And another vote for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I was thinking of rereading Matilda for this challenge. Or The Secret Garden or Harriet the Spy. Three of my favorite books.

I just re-read "the Secret of the Old Clock" by Carolyn Keene. Love Nancy Drew and this will probably get me started rereading all of them.
I guess this might be "cheating" but I'm doing another book recommended by a friend for this one - she loved Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick in elementary school and I still haven't gotten around to reading it.
Anna wrote: "The Little Prince, along with Jonathan Livingston Seagull, are my favorite books...ever!! I read them in my 10th grade English class and feel in love with them. Is 10th grade too old to be conside..."The criterion we came up with at my house (my mom and sister are also doing the challenge) is that if it gives you nostalgia, it counts as childhood.
I just finished reading From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler for this prompt, myself. I think I read it for the first time in 5th grade.
Adrienne wrote: "I planned on also reading Nancy Drew again for this challenge."Good idea, Adrienne! You reminded me how much I enjoyed those books.
I was obsessed with VC Andrews since the age of 8 when I read Flowers in the Attic. So I shall be revisiting her again for this challenge :)
I plan on re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I've read it numerous of times, and I fell in love with reading when I was a kid after reading Harry Potter.
I was already in college when Harry Potter came out. I feel so old when people consider it a childhood book!
I read Little Town on the Prairie. I think I got this book as a gift and I saw it sitting on the shelf still in my old bedroom at mom's house. I never read it because if I was reading a series I _had_ to read them in order and I don't think i ever got past the 3rd book in the series. I loved the old TV show, although now I could probably not sit through it. It was fun to read, especially about all the food!

I read To Kill a Mockingbird about 26 years ago and just finished reading it again at one o'clock this morning. It is just as lovely and moving as I remembered. I am so glad that I took the time to read it again!
I think I am going to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I read it in 10th or 11th grade so I don't know if that counts in the prompt. I would still consider myself a child then! If not I may read The Wizard of Oz, Charlottes Web or one of the Fear Street books I read in junior high.
The Just So Stories. Just found a copy from 1912 haven't read these since I was very young so I'm going to read them all again. Already read the Cat the Walked by Himself just have to get through the others now.
Alycia wrote: "I loved The Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene du Bois. Ooh, and Charlotte's Web. And another vote for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."Oh I loved The Twenty-One Balloons! I haven't read it since I was kid. That is definitely going on my list.
I'd like to reread some Noel Streatfeild for this one. "Thursday's Child" and "When the Sirens Wailed" are my favorites. They were a huge part of my childhood.
I'm thinking I'll read "From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler by E.L. Konigsberg. A librarian read a chapter of this one out loud to us and I got hooked. A
I read The Doll in the Garden. It was so scary when I was young but very benign now that I've grown up!
I'm not sure what to read in this category. THE book of my childhood is "one thousand and one nights" my father would read it to me before sleep (of course, with some censorsheep as I was a little child) and then he gave me the book translation (because he used to read from a italian version and translate for me and I didn't knew italian - still don't actually) when I was 11 y. o. and I read it all two times plus single stories since then... It is a long book, I don't think I can start now and finish the whole challenge this year.
Just read The Dollhouse Murders which i thought was super spooky and long as a kid. Not so much now...
