Lily Rose Dorothea | 1454 comments Last winter my feet got super cold while I stood outside with the oil delivery...he was from Czechoslovakia...not sure why he moved to Maine! LOL! Anyway, when I got back inside I had to soak my feet to thaw them out. Nastya saw me and was thoroughly disgusted!

Not for nothing Dorothy but why did you have to go outside with the oil delivery? Granted I live in Boston and I use heating oil too but the company I use knows where to go and I stay indoors.

Haha! This delivery guy was new so I had to show him where to go. The one for the house is by a slope. Poor guy thought he was going to have to walk through 6 feet of drifted snow to get to it! LOL!

All it's been doing is raining every day. Good weather for staying and snuggling up with a good book. My husband Bryan is making me fresh coffee right now but I think later on I'm treating myself to a fresh pot of dark yerba mate tea. I wish I knew how to post a pic because I found the most delightful teapot I'm going to order when I get my disability check together with the matching teacup and saucer. Dear God I'm getting very British. Not a bad thing though. Helps with my anxiety.

Emma | meadowroselibrary That sounds very nice and relaxing! I've had yerba mate, but never really cared for it that much. 🤔 But the coffee sounds good! 😂

How perfectly sweet and cozy!
We're waiting on a cool front. so
I made a cup for my mother and me
it was exactly what I needed. Bliss!
And, like you, will have yes- Earl grey,
later and catch up on reading. 📖☕

Making a fresh pot of tea brings back good memories of my grandmothers having tea in their kitchens with them and calms me down. Better than having to take another pill.

No, we don't want Meg's group to fade.
We want her to return to a strong and
well supported group. Your great ideas
will certainly help.

Definitely!
That's lovely, Doreen.
The tea ritual is very calming and rewarding with
the first sip, it's what I look forward to the most.
and it releases pent up sigh.

My mother had shared with me of My great-grandmother,
she always had fresh Chamomile tea, scented with a
hint of Apple.

I do dearly miss both of my grandmothers who have passed on but having tea with them was always such a happy time for me. So now when I make a fresh pot of tea it's like I can feel them here with me and I'm happy and it calms me down.

Joanna Good evening, dear friends! 😊 Just checking in and thought I'd say "hi" since Emma caught me changing my profile pic! 😂 I think I'm going to be looking for a balance on GR. Still keeping a low profile so I probably won't be participating that much, but I already miss sharing book updates and our discussions. I really appreciate you all and your support of the group! 🤗🤗🤗

Emma | meadowroselibrary Meg!! Yes of course I caught that!! 🤣 I knew you wouldn't be able to fully be away for too long! 🤗🤗🤗

BTW my grandmothers names were Sabina, easy to pronounce, on my mom's side. On my dad's side, Wladyslawa, not so easy to pronounce unless you're Polish. lol

My maternal grandmother was Polish. Her name was Salomea, but everyone knew her as Sallie. I miss her so much. She was such a good cook and made so many delicious Polish foods! I now live in her house. Her mother came to the U.S. from Poland in the early 1900's and her name was Katarzyna, or Katie.

Wladyslawa
Is it the feminine form of Ladislaw (I think that's
how it's spelled)?

The funny part I just realized Pamela was my grandparents on my father's never applied for citizenship or a green card . I'm second generation American but according to them never getting citizenship or applying I guess on my dad's side we're illegal. Oops.

Pamela | 2209 comments I am in disbelief this morning. No matter how old I get, I always love to watch all of the Charlie Brown/Peanuts Specials on TV, so I checked online to find out when "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" will air for Halloween. ABC has sold the rights to ALL of the Charlie Brown specials!!! They will never again be broadcast on network TV!!! GOOD GRIEF!!! What is this World coming to??? I have been watching it every year since 1966. I was 4 years old the first time it was on TV. My family was the first on my street to have a color tv set, so all of the kids in the neighborhood came to my house to watch the Holiday Specials every year. We had such fun! They say that other networks want to sell Rudolph, Frosty and Santa specials, too! I know there are much bigger troubles at the moment, but Charlie Brown was such a nice escape from the "real world" and is needed more than ever, in my opinion. The other shows were, too!
😓😔😕🙁☹😢😟😭😭😭😩🙍‍♀️🤦‍♀️👋🎃🦃🎄♥️🐰👋😫

Lily Rose Dorothea | 1454 comments Oh, so that explains why the Christmas Special won't be on anymore. I thought maybe they considered it offensive. Thankfully, we don't have TV anyway, and watch everything online, so it's not a problem.

They do consider the Charlie Brown specials to be offensive. That is why ABC sold their broadcast rights. They say they are politically incorrect. I will not say what I think about it.🤫
