Hi Allyson, I was just getting ready to update you! 😊 It sounds like a lot of fun, but I have some doubts about how much I would have time to participate. Also, the last couple of days I've been noticing that my thoughts were flowing more freely and today I actually felt like some things were starting to take form (although I have yet to write anything down!😏). I asked myself what was different, and realized that I'd been spending a little less time online and more time outdoors! So I don't know, maybe more quiet time in the woods is what I really need.

He's been feeling quite a bit better though still coughing a lot and hoarse (sometimes he sounds like he could sing soprano!😂). No shortness of breath, thanks be to God! He did finally talk to his Dr. today and is supposed to go get tested tomorrow. We are really hoping it comes back negative, although I admit my hopes are pretty slim.

Hi Meg,
No shortness is a good sign.
We hope and pray that everything goes. ❤

Oh Allyson, I'm so sorry...I hope it didn't seem like I was ignoring you!! I saw this earlier when I didn't have a chance to reply, and then it got lost amid other things. I'd love to join but to be honest I'm already feeling slightly overwhelmed so I think I'll have to decline your gracious invitation. I do really appreciate it though! 😊

Meg whatever the tests say just remember we're all here for you and your family. We'll all pitch in for you.

Doreen,
Have you ever been to Concord?

🎉🎉🎉!!!Hurrah!!!.🎉🎉🎉
🎈This excellent news!!🎈
At last, a deep sigh of relief.😌

Right now I've got 4 or 5 different varieties growing, 2 of which are already starting to bloom. This one is 'Chocolate Rose Silk'...

This one is a bit of a mystery. I made the mistake of not labelling when I transplanted these, so I don't know what variety they're supposed to be. A couple of people have told me it looks like 'Fuje Musume', but I don't even have seeds for that variety! Varieties can also be a little unstable, so growing MGs is full of surprises!

And here are a few that I grew last fall/early winter (I started them in July and August and brought them indoors when it started to turn cold). These are called 'Star of India'. As you can see, there is a lot of variation!

The same flower later the same day...

And this one is 'Akatsuki no Tsuyu', or 'Blue Silk'. It looks quite a bit different than it's supposed to though. I suspect it was due to the colder temperatures (this bloomed in late November and it was chilly even indoors!)…

Some varieties also have pretty variegated leaves!

You have done your green thumb proud.
This is the first variegated Morning Glory I have seen.
These are lovely Meg.

Wow Ruth, I am speechless!! If I were you I'd save some of that dust as a souvenir! 😄

It looks like something out of The Mummy movie.

"The statue of the poet and abolitionist John Greenleaf Whittier (located in Central Park, in Whittier, California) was vandalized.
In 1833, John Greenleaf Whittier published the antislavery pamphlet “Justice and Expediency.” He was a founding member of the American Anti-Slavery Society and signed the Anti-Slavery Declaration of 1833, which he often considered the most significant action of his life."

Oh that is so horrible!!! 😡😤
While it's still quiet here I think I'll head into the kitchen and make myself a fresh pot of Lady Londonderry tea:)

Enjoy, Doreen. 🤗 Hope you get a quiet evening for once!

in order to reach your goal.

Yes, I've considered doing that myself since my sister sings so high that no one else can reach the note without a ladder! 😂

Thanks Doreen...I'm sure we will! 🤗

I checked out Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather, The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins, The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper, New Englands Legends & Folklore by Samuel Adams Drake and 'Reminiscences of Other Times', by Ruth Keech Whittier, which is a history of one of the first settler families in this part of Maine, and we live on their original homestead!
Any suggestions on which one I should pick up first? 😁

Haha, I learned my lesson back in March when I limited myself to 2 books and then the library closed the following week! Hopefully that won't happen again but I'm a little paranoid! It's definitely enough to keep me busy for a while, especially since I have a few other things to do besides reading... 😂

I'm sorry...I'm not sure what you're asking about, MaryAnn?

Thanks for posting the Whittier poem. I liked it a lot.
Ugh when it rains it pours. Now I’m having problems with my cable and internet so I’m using the backdoor way to access this site via the mobile app which I hate on my phone. It’s better than nothing I guess. Cable company is supposed to come today between 12-2 to fix things but I’m not holding my breath.
