🤣🤣🤣 They were fascinated by the big CAT machine that was throwing snow! It took about 2 hours just to clear our section of the road and they watched the whole time!

Well our main door opens in, so it's not a problem. We have had to push pretty hard on the storm door though! 😂

That's wonderful!!! Our forecast looks very promising too! Tomorrow's high of 27 is going to feel like summer after today! 🤣🤣 Is your wind over yet? It started blowing here about 8:00 last night and it's been just wild ever since!

The wind is still howling here, too. It's supposed to get better late tonight. Last night was terrible. I couldn't stand the noise and it kept me awake, as I was fearful. The last wind storm that blew down part of our barn on Christmas Eve left me terrified. Picture this...in order to finally get some sleep last night, I put cotton balls in my ears and then put on my big fluffy earmuffs. That's how I slept until this morning! I am totally serious! I could not stand the howling and rattling noises. Even with my ears covered, the wind still woke me around 3:00 am. I couldn't get back to sleep after that. The local airport recorded 58 mph gusts all night long! Now, the gusts are down to 35 mph, but still rattling the windows. Indeed, it's been wild here, too. A section of fence blew down and several sections of siding blew off the garage during the night. I'll repair it tomorrow...IF the wind really subsides!

Oh my! It sounds like you've had even stronger winds than we have. I do understand about the nervous feeling when the wind is really howling at night. Most of the time I like it, but if I'm feeling anxious about anything else, it can get to me! 😂 I'm glad it's starting to calm down there...I think it is here as well now, though it's still supposed to be pretty brisk through tomorrow.

Joanna My dad and I took a little drive a while ago with the intentions of getting some videos of the white-out conditions. We didn't get very far though before we were stuck in the middle of the road! I posted a video on my blog...hopefully it works for everybody! Don't try this at home! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Joanna Well, there are signs of spring already...the sun is a lot brighter and warmer, and the few birds that overwinter with us - I don't really know how to describe it, but even the ravens sound more cheerful! 🤭🤣🤣 It's a-coming! 😊

Pamela | 2209 comments We have lots of birds at our feeder lately. A skunk was near my back door, as I smelled it early this morning. I also heard several coyotes yapping in the field behind my property. They are nasty, eating deer and cats. Many neighborhood cats have become meals for the coyotes. I wish people would keep their pets indoors, as we live along a busy street, by an active school bus station, and next to a busy church driveway. Even though they don't always have church services b/c of covid, they do have a food pantry which is open every day, so there is always traffic. Too much for pets to be safe outside. We've had to shovel up the remains of far too many of the neighbor's cats who were hit by cars on the road. That angers me. Our pets have always been indoors or on leashes when taken outside.

How much snow did you end up with? The wind has finally subsided here! Temps around 50 are expected today!👍👍

Oh yeah, I used to worry about the coyotes when our cats were outside. We would put them in at night though. Now they are always inside. 😊

I think we got another 6 inches Monday. Yesterday it was just blowing. There was a drift in our driveway about 3 feet high and packed so hard from the wind that I could walk over it and barely make a dent! Not sure what the total amount on the ground is, but probably around 30 inches.

Pamela | 2209 comments 😀😁😄That is A LOT of snow! Ours is finally melting. Now we have swampland in our backyard. I expect to see alligators crawling out of the mud soon!😉No such luck, as we don't have any gators here, but there are days I would like to have one!😂🤣😆🤫 I am very bad, aren't I?!

It's nice to hear from Emma and Dorothy! I've missed chatting with both of you!

It's been a crazy day. A lady I did not know drove in and parked behind my garage. I asked what she was doing. She said she wanted to talk to me about my husband. Of course, I don't have a husband, but I didn't say that as I didn't want her to know I was alone. She got nasty and said she knew my name was Audrey and I had better get my husband! I told her she must be at the wrong house and she said I should stop messing with her! I said she should get off my property or I would call the police. Thankfully, my neighbor came out with her phone in hand, said she could hear yelling and told the lady to leave or she would call the police, so she left. I was grateful, but am still worried. It's a creepy world. I hope she does not return. There are other streets in the area with the same house number, but it was rather scary. I sure hope the rest of the day is peaceful.🙏

Emma | meadowroselibrary I've missed it too, Pammy! 🤗🤗 How are you doing?

Actually, I think our neighborhood skunk could come in handy!😆🤣😂😉😄😁We do have a rare bear sighting, but they run away. The hawks tend to get quite aggressive. Maybe I'll start luring them! LOL!!! It's getting to the point that I am less fearful of large wild animals than of humans. How sad is that? I am thankful for the good neighbors we have.🙏 (note, I said the "good" neighbors!)🙂

Oh I don't blame you at all...it is getting to be a scary world. The more I hear about the things that have been going on, the more glad I am to live here in the wilds of Maine! 😂 There are some strange people here too though...a few years ago one of our neighbors was dealing drugs and we occasionally had people wandering onto our property in a daze. That was scary! The rest of the neighbors are wonderful though! 😊

message 5677: by Pamela (new)

Pamela | 2209 comments Our neighbors are great...except for Frick & Frack. They are Whackadoos.😆😝 The rest of us all work together and help each other out.

I just came back inside after repairing the siding on our garage. I also posted some No Trespassing signs around our property. I told my mom I would like to put up an electric fence. That would "shock" people, wouldn't it?!

The wind is howling here. We have good storm windows and they are even rattling this morning. It's hard to keep it warm in the house and our furnaces are running often, too. Tomorrow is supposed to be windy like today. I may be sleeping with my earmuffs on again!😆🤣😂😄 I want to live where it is 70 degrees year round, no wind, and only enough precipitation to keep safe from drought. Really, I don't think that's too much to ask!☺😊🙂🙊

Pamela | 2209 comments Scratch my saying I was going out today. It's been snowing since 8:00 a.m., and it was not predicted and doesn't show up on the radar! Just enough snow to glaze roads. Pamela | 2209 comments Well, the sun is shining. The sky is blue. There is no wind. The decorative rocks in my flowerbeds are dry and not white. Based on that, meteorologist Pammy Jo forecasts no snow, no rain, no wind, and it will be a fair weather day here today. I predict it will be a go for visiting the farmer's market and Babushka's shop to buy some good treats! 🌞🚗👩‍🌾🍞🥟🥧🍰👍

If you care to let me know what your weather conditions are today, I shall be pleased to advise you of your forecast, too!😂🤣😂🤣😆😃😉🤗

Pamela | 2209 comments Ta-Daaa! My forecast was correct! I got to the farmer's market and bought 2 dozen homemade pierogies, carrot cake and brownies! Yum! I keep the sweets in the freezer for when my glucose is too low. My garden rock is still dry! If I was a real meteorologist, I would earn, on average, $150,000 per year! Joanna Well, I just had an adventure! 🤣🤣 I've been home alone this evening, and just stepped outside to bring in some firewood. Of course I didn't bother to put on my coat...thankfully I did have gloves, because when I came back, the door had somehow locked itself! So there I was outside in 12 degrees with just a light sweater, and no idea when my mom and sister would be getting home! So...I've just been running around the driveway for the last 40 minutes! 🥶🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
