loved, loved, loved this. All the fun and snark.
The image of Marcus with the tiny dog - pure magic.
Loved the inclusion of Claude. I hope he might get together with Karsyen in the next book.
The next book better be soon, I didn't want this one to end.

Page Count: 378/GR Kindle
How it Qualifies: Read by Lisa on 16May2020 - Rated 5 Stars
Date Completed: 06Jun2020
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: I can totally see why Lisa rated this 5 Stars...amazing world-building, great characters (main and side) and while Twig & Quinn are in an established relationship by this installment, there's still some tension about making the decision to permanently mate. Oh, and the sex was sizzling hot.

This should really be labelled as Part 1 since so much of the mystery remains. But the relationship is a HFN in that our MCs are together.

Don't know what took me so long to read this book. I'd guess I didn't read the precis because I love this shiz!

Glad you enjoyed it! More mystery than romance in many ways, but two MCs that really fit well and needed each other :)

I've been milling around counting points for What Lies Beneath ;)

Is this the read-off, or the last task before the read-off?
**edit**
For some reason I thought we finished on a Friday, but I realise we actually down our books on midnight Tuesday (which for me will be sometime on Wednesday afternoon I think). So it would seem the next task is the read-off 😱
...Right through the middle of my work week as I work Monday to Wednesday!! Geez.
Hells bells -

Is this the read-off, or the last task before the read-off?"
The read-off - it the last task and everyone gets the same one. Right now I have 4 teams getting the task first thing - for me, no guarantees of time! It is only this team and Team 9 competing for the overall win.

I need to mentally prepare myself!! Ack.
AND we have some cattle stuff happening tomorrow as well... Ah well - I'll just have to do my best 😁

So we'd post our book, and then simply update that post to a COMPLETION and note the date it was finished.
Given this finishes during my daytime, the tally in msg 17 will be easy for me to keep up to date.
But if it is simpler to continue as we were, or some mix of the two, that will work as well :D

Somehow I wish the last task was given on Friday so we would have the weekend to read.

I need to scroll through the thread to get a tentative time as to when MK tends to update so I can get a jump on the task ASAP.

It can be any time between 10 and noon pacific.

100. Read a book with an average rating of 4.2 or higher. No pass for this task. You can read as many books as you wish, each book completed earns a point.
The books you choose need to have an average GR rating of 4.2 or higher. You can find this number on the main book page, use the average rating in your qualification. There is no pass for this task - so every team member needs to complete a book before the task is considered complete and points are tallied. Completions need to be posted prior to midnight US EDT on Tuesday, June 9th when the challenge ends.

Loved this book. Dallas was so patient and caring nursing Justin back to health following the car accident, made all the more difficult with the fact Justin couldn't remember him.

Review: Well, it seems like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong with our MCs here. SPECTR is no longer the agency either (+Grey) thought they'd joined and I think I was just as frustrated as Caleb/Grey with the new restrictions, many of them a Catch-22.
Ends on a cliffhanger, again, and I might just have to listen to the next one later today!

Review: Not quite 4 stars but I rounded up...well, just because!
Gah, I should have listened to this one closer to the others because OMG the terminology, rules, rituals, titles etc. were almost overwhelming. (I almost wish there was a glossary at the beginning for these audios like there is in Cochet's THIRDS series.) Other than that, it was pretty good; there was a moment there where I actually did that whole "releasing a breath I didn't know I was holding" thing that I rage against in books - but if you know what scene I'm talking about I doubt you weren't a little shocked as well.
Despite starting out a little rocky (not fond of the amnesia trope), it was probably the best book of the series. And of course Sean did a great job with the narration!

Review: Audio Review 08Jun2020 No Change
I don't know if Joel's Aussie accent is authentic but I like it a lot. Every. Single. Complaint I had about the book the first time around still stands, though...and despite the Fake Boyfriend Trope being one of my favorites, the way it's done here seems even more manipulative this time around. But I did like the audio, so it evened out.
Original Review 13Sep2016: 3.8 Stars
I really liked the idea of a relationship rescuer that can make an ex see the error of their ways. Sure, it's a little manipulative but sometimes a guy needs a good swift kick to pull his head out of his ass.
But with this specific book, the Ex was so...I dunno, nebulous? Like, he wasn't even a real character that mattered? More than once I kept thinking that this was some sort of set-up FOR Spencer rather than BY Spencer because it felt like Eli was so unimportant to the story - almost an unknowing participant that just happened to be in the right places at the right times for Andrew to use as a good cover. Yeah, that's probably because we don't have things from Andrew's POV so we don't get any real conversation with anyone but Andrew and Spencer's friends...but still, the whole backstory and relationship felt incomplete and unsolid.
Also, weepy lumbersexual hipsters must just not be my thing. He sounded hot and funny and cheeky - in a sneaky, ninja badass way... till he broke down like a Night-Time Soap Diva. Yeah, I know we women say we want men more in touch with their feelings but, no. Not that much. A good drunk with a side of breaking shit and shutting down/sleeping around would have done for me, thanks.
I'm going to read the next one because I'm hoping it will help improve my image of Spencer, maybe make me understand that kind of reaction to someone he just fucking met. Because the half paragraph explanation of his past/family dynamic was also just too rushed; hints were dropped here and there but when the truth was revealed it felt like a truth bomb no one waited around to hear the backstory of...because none was explained. Too little detail for it to be so much of a defining event.
