I didn't see anything on the challenge thread, QA or the group info that would preclude it. The only issue would be that there is no Kindle edition, but rules say ebook edition page count would work if no Kindle edition.

But, the one I want to read is tagged only 1x with mm-magic and I'd rather not take a chance...

I've got another that will fit this and two other challenge categories, so I'll go with that one.

If this story was just a bit tighter on the narrative, a little less extended on its descriptions. it would be 5 stars. It feels quite YA fantasy, given it is the awakening of a mage, but the family construct and secondary characters (all the way through to the sword that wants to sleep in stone) gives it a deeper dimension. It's pure fun.

Review: I am stupidly fond of the Fake Boyfriend trope, and when the MCs start off as Besties? Even better.

This was funny, sexy and romantic; loved that there was so little angsting over exploring sexuality. I probably would have given this 4.5 stars but that Big Misunderstanding was a bit of a disappointment (please, authors, stop doing this) and the italics used for thought AND dialogue was confusing.

That said, I'm totally on board for other books in this series. We get some vague hints about two new couples there in the epilogue (there were a several of those; oddly enough I didn't mind that this time around) and I'm eager to see who Owen and Shay get paired up with!

I guess this was much like its predecessors in the fact that bodyguard is assigned to protect a client and falls in love with them. It was an ok story and the mystery was alright although it seemed as if it was going to start going and then it was dropped and then at the last minute the writers remembered that it still wasn't solved and rushed to an end.
An ok read.

I wish this were longer; all three characters' stories deserved more exploration (especially Sage's with being kidnapped by that cult) and so there was only just enough background to explain their personalities and behavior...but still, given the shorter length SK did a great job.

One of these days I'm going to go back and start all these (including the previous 2 series) (well at least the ones with MM) from the beginning.
