Although a book with crimes committed, bullying and name calling there were acts of kindness especially from Nicky or towards him by others. Nicky had a big heart. His twin, Nate, was always caring for him since Nicky had special needs. When he moved into an apt close to home he made sure to get two bedrooms so Nicky could visit him several times a week.
