We aren't divided into serious, medium, and fun this time. We're all mixed together :)

I am, and I think it's great. There's a lot of books on KU. But it depends on whether the books you want to read are on there. So just check before you subscribe.

I've got KU, don't use it much, but there's always books on there that look so goooood.

I'm planning on reading Acowar, as well as the first 4 ToG books. And some Christina Lauren. And A Heart So Broken and Fierce, The Mermaid and Guinevere Deception.

I'm on lockdown until at least the 26th April, but I still need to work, so can't spend all my days reading :/ It's annoying because everyone else I know just has a month-long paid holiday, whereas I have to work from home very unproductively with deadlines to get paid

message 23: by Susan (new)

Susan (jazzescrapper) | 2605 comments Hi everyone, I'm checking in to the challenge and making sure everyone is doing okay. You and your families are staying in and staying healthy I hope? I know I'm looking forward to the day I can go into a store and buy toilet paper and eggs again....and Bisquick. Who knew that Bisquick would be so hard to get.

Happy reading to everyone. Stay in and stay safe.

@Jackie, I have KU and I've loved it so much. So worth the money and the books have all been really good that I've read so far.

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Thank you for your feedback on kindle unlimited! I’m definitely going to think about getting it but going to look through which books they have an offer first.

message 25: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Also, do we think we will need a spreadsheet? I see the other teams are using it, but don’t know what others think. I could go either way on it.

I'm not sure. I personally don't think we need one. There's not really categories to keep track of. Just five letters. And those'll be in the review thread. And if there's a letter that's falling behind, we can discuss it.

message 28: by Mara (last edited Mar 27, 2020 02:13AM) (new)

Mara (mara97) | 468 comments I agree that the spreadsheet is not quite necessary, but it can be useful to have an overview of the planned reads and maybe can find buddy reads. Especially now it's such a big group. (and there is a letter calculator in the spreadsheet, so you can put in the title and author and you can see which letters these contain, so you don't have to count it by hand)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments I love KU and use it all the time. Lots of great books on there.

I don't think we need a spreadsheet, but if someone wants to make one then go ahead :)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53683 comments Mod
Tbh I won't be looking at the ss if we have one :p I think we'll be fine. Besides, we can use any letter in the whole entire title or author's name, and we only need APRILs, so it won't be too hard.

message 42: by Katie (new)

Katie | 3379 comments Hi Aly!

It's a Harry Potter themed reading challenge I found online where you get to pick your dream Hogwarts Career and pass your OWLS for that career. The reading challenge takes place during the month of April. The careers I'm choosing between take 7-8 books, but I haven't finalized my career quite yet. The easiest career takes 3 books (I think) and the hardest career to get takes 12 books.

Once you pick your career, there will be a list of required OWLS to go with that career. Each OWL has a prompt that tell you what kind of book you need to read. For example, for my charms OWL, I need to read a book with a white cover (American Dirt.) For my ancient ruins OWL, I need to read a book with a heart on the cover or the word heart in the title (Wild at Heart or Bride Test). For my magical creature OWL, I need to read a book with an animal that has a beak on the cover (Tweet Cute).

I'm pretty excited, and it's all for fun, but it helps me get to books that I own but haven't read yet. I'm making my elementary age kids do this too since we have an extended break right now. HA!

Here is the link with all the information I got on youtube. It also has the list of careers and prompts.
