posthuman is 72% done with The First Girl Child: Interesting premise and compelling characters in this book, particularly Ghost and Dagmar. so far it has been enjoyable to read, but I get pulled out of the story by inconsistencies in the setting. At first it seemed like an original fantasy world, but there are many references to Thor, Loki, Odin, Freya, Jesus and Moses. Is this a parallel world with different Scandinavian geography? Some names Nordic, others not.
