GreenFairy (greenfairy429) | 1096 comments Finished my first book already! For Next In Series Amanda picked Last Gift. It was a really short read. Kind of like 2-3 chapters of a full novel. I'm grateful it had nothing to do with Last Breath, as I finished that one a few days ago.

This is a quick holiday read sharing Nick and Daisy's first Christmas together. I can't really share anything about it because then I would basically be telling you the story. It is a free download though from the book's page.

I will be reading at least one other PIFM title, most likely more than that. Thanks, Amanda!

Sorry to keep you waiting, I've read Scandal And The Duchess which I've enjoyed quite a lot and I'm planning to read something from the Viper Game, Cut & Run, Azagoth, The Last Thing He Needs area.

Your welcome Amy, Glad you liked it. Sometimes I like the short ones when that's all I'm in the mood for, I like them even more when its a story with characters I really liked from earlier in that series. Kind of like an extra long epilogue. :)

I finished up Born in Death - i remember now why I try to spread them out - 3 books in a row in the series have burnt me out a bit - but I liked it

I'm listening to Angels' Blood right now (I know you recommended the 2nd book, but its been so long since I read this one, that I needed to go back for a refresh)

GreenFairy (greenfairy429) | 1096 comments Just finished my 2nd book

New Release: Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss, #1) by Nalini Singh

Nalini Singh is one of my favorite authors. I've read every book in Psy/Changeling and Guild Hunter at least 3 times. I love how she expanded into non-paranormal and went with a totally hot rock romance. Every woman should have her very own Fox. Unless you don't like tattoos and a ripped body. All he needed was a piercing and I would have been floating. Lately I haven't been a fan of the main female characters. But I'm so glad that the author was able to write about how a real woman is. I could actually connect with her. Definitely recommend this to everyone.

I get burning out on a series if you go through to many too close together...I'm glad I'm current with the In Death series - it's forced spacing. :D Glad you liked it, though!

I read Angels' Blood several years ago, and if I ever get back to that series I'm definitely going to have to start over, too...I don't remember anything about it after this long.

LaurLa | 5118 comments Sunshine - I have read 2 of my picks from you... As always I enjoyed the Sullivan book but holy cow, Hold on to Me blew me away. I was expecting to really like it because I loved the first book, but this one just grabbed me from the start and I had to force myself to put it down at 2:00am (I sorta have to do that a lot, though...). Anyway, thanks for picking it. I would have read it eventually, but you gave me the incentive to do it now, and I am oh, so glad!! Thanks!!!

Next up is Rumor (Renegades, #3.5) by Skye Jordan

I always wonder what i'm missing with Bella Andre's books because they just don't work for me - I was really looking forward to Smith's and it was just a huge let-down - the chunks of screen play irked me and I found Valentina insipid

GreenFairy (greenfairy429) | 1096 comments Finished my 3rd PIFM from Amanda!

For New Series she recommended:

Throttle Me (Men of Inked, #1) by Chelle Bliss

Maybe it's just me but I found many issues with this book. There was no substantial plot to it. Lots of sex, yes, but not really much of a story. Editing was horrendous. Writing repeated phrases in the same sentence is a huge no-no. Using the same descriptive phrases. There were inconsistencies with the characters. And while the cover was hot, if you're going to describe the tattoos the character has, the tattoos on the cover should at least come close. Or change the tattoos the character has if you can't make a cover to match. I don't plan on continuing this series.

As I said in my review of Smith's book, this series is almost too sweet. There is a pollyanna-ness about the series. And if you tried to read them one right after another, I think I'd get sick on them. However, I can't deny that they do feed something in me - probably just that fantasy the perfect person, the perfect love and the perfect family exists. Sometimes it's what I need after more difficult books. Sometimes I don't need it but can sit back and simply appreciate the fantasy for what it is. ;-)

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Tarsila--I just finished my second PIFM book this month, The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu and really liked it. Wonderful, believable characters and a style that kept me reading to find out what really happened--and what would happen to the characters (whom I cared about). Thanks for the great recommendation--I hope it's in Brazil soon so that you can read it, too!

Yep... but there's chocolate and then there's Godiva dark chocolate raspberry filling. Not that I think the series is up to that level of goodness by any means. Just commenting on chocolate because you made me crave some - at 6:30 am, no less!

GreenFairy (greenfairy429) | 1096 comments Finished my 4th book!

For New to Me author, Amanda chose Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders, #1) by Lorelei James

I had such hopes for this one. It had so much potential to be a great story. Maybe if the author cut out a good chunk of the sex and actually focused more on the development of the relationship between Colby and Channing. I'm considering reading more of the series...but I'm still undecided.

Don't give up on the series. The author actually matures over the series and each book seems to progressively focus on the romance and rely less and less on kink. Don't get me wrong, Ms James can still write a hella kinky sex scene, but the later books become more about the relationships than about sex for sex's sakes. And truth be told, one of my favorite of the series was #5 Rough, Raw, and Ready, which is a m/m/f storyline but quite emotional. Don't give up!!
