Ashley Adams | 4 comments Hello, everyone! I'm Ashley, reading from the Pacific NW. I stumbled across the Popsugar challenge and the prompts made me laugh, I'm excited to join in! I work with young students so many of my reads are likely to be children's books. Still, branching out will be fun. Happy to meet everyone!

Allie | 6 comments Hello, I'm Allie and I live in Lafayette, La. This is the second year I have participated in this challenge, and I am looking forward to it.

message 2053: by Maggs (new)

Maggs (maggnew) Hi everyone! My name is Barbara, I'm 30 and from NJ. I love thrillers, memoirs, and autobiographies though I will try just about everything. Last year I only made it halfway through my goal and am looking forward to starting at the beginning of the year in the hopes of meeting my goal of 52 books in 52 weeks along with finishing the Popsugar Challenge.

message 2054: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Ledford | 1 comments Hello! I just stumbled upon the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge and thought it would motivate me to read more this year. I am a high school history teacher, so I read a lot of American history texts, specifically to diversify the historical narrative my students are exposed to. I like reading biographies and thrillers, mostly, but I’m hoping to incorporate some other genres into my reading list this year.

message 2055: by Julia (new)

Julia | 3 comments Hello! My name is Julia and I'm a librarian in Denver, CO. I love to read and thought this challenge looked fun. I'd like to see more nonfiction prompts, though, as I'm trying to read more nonfiction in 2021.

message 2056: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) Hi I'm bookbuyer. Just joined and am looking forward to trying this challenge. :)

Stacey Johnson | 1 comments Hi everyone. Im Stacey. Im from scotland. Looking forward to trying to complete this challenge in 2021

message 2059: by Ann (new)

Ann (annmcswain) | 0 comments Hey everyone! I am excited to join this challenge this year. I am trying to make reading a priority for self-care for myself. I live in NC with my wife, our two elementary-aged kids, and any fosters we have. I challenged myself to read more in 2020 and exceeded my own expectations, so the plan is to continue that in 2021!

message 2060: by Brett (new)

Brett | 2 comments Hello! I'm Brett and I am originally from the states (AZ) but I live in Ireland now. I first heard of the Popsugar challenge last year but didn't participate because I was already doing another challenge. This year though will be the Popsugar challenge.

message 2061: by Laurie (new)

Laurie | 41 comments Hello, I’m Laurie, a 3rd grade teacher from Eugene, Oregon. I’m an avid reader whose favorite genre is historical fiction. The challenge is already helping me expand my reading repertoire, as I have several books lined up for the various topics. Thank you for all the suggestions!

message 2062: by Rachel (new)

Rachel F (rachelbookdragon) | 9 comments Hey I’m Rachel & this is my first time/year doing this, very excited 😍

message 2063: by Devashree (new)

Devashree Tulankar | 1 comments Hi, I am Devashree from India. I will be attempting the challenge in 2021. I enjoy reading and mostly read fantasy, sci-fi, murder mysteries and the occasional non-fiction, but I am hoping to read a greater variety of books in 2021 :)

message 2064: by Amy (new)

Amy (amybraswell) | 22 comments Hi everyone, I'm Amy from St Pete, FL. I'm joining this challenge (for the first time!) in order to try and push myself to read a bit more. I used to read non-stop, several books at a time, but I have a 5 year old and own my own business, so I've slowed down a bit. Looking to get back into it - and to have discussions with other readers!

Amber - Eat, Tan, Read | 6 comments Hi! I am Amber, I am 36 and I live in North Idaho. I am an analyst for a large bank during the day and at night I enjoy reading, reviewing books, watching True Crime TV shows, and crocheting. A few years ago I started a blog eattanread.com and I am loving every minute of it. I have been doing Popsugar reading challenges for years but just found this group and I am super excited to join and see what everyone is reading.

message 2066: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Kornelsen (jesskornelsen) Hello, I'm Jessica. I'm 37 and living in Alberta. I love to read and this is my first challenge.

message 2067: by Cristiana (last edited Dec 31, 2020 07:53PM) (new)

Cristiana VanVeelen (horsesnotzebras) | 1 comments Hello!
I'm Cristi and I'm planning to not fail miserably at this challenge for the 3rd year in a row. I used to be a very avid reader, which changed significantly after I had kids and started reading and writing for a living (but not necessarily in that order). I love the idea of the Popsugar reading challenge as a way to break out of reading genre ruts. Hopefully 2021 is my year!

message 2068: by Critterbee❇ (new)

Critterbee❇ (critterbee) | 4 comments Hi everybody!
This is the first year that I am participating in this challenge, and already it has been so much fun organizing my tbr list. I am looking forward to reading books that I would not have read otherwise (looking at you, How to Be Both and Elizabeth and Her German Garden).

message 2069: by Manda (new)

Manda (tyedyegoddess) | 1 comments Hi all! I'm Manda. 36 years old from New Mexico USA. Starting the reading challenge today! I work 2 jobs and am in my Master's, and I homeschool my son. So I need some "me time". Lol

message 2070: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Wietrzykowski | 4 comments Hello all, my name's Kayla and I'm a 21-year-old college student living in Ohio. My hope in joining this challenge is that doing so will motivate me to make a small dent in my (massive) collection of unread books.

message 2071: by Katy (new)

Katy Grenfell (ktgrenfell) | 2 comments Hello everyone! I'm Katy from New Jersey! I'm an actor in real life, but I work as a Training Specialist/CSR to pay the bills. I love reading all kinds of books, but have a special love for sci-fi/fantasy. Oh, and Stephen King. But I will read almost any book you put in front of me.

I love talking about books, sharing books, debating books, etc.

I've never done a Reading Challenge before and my partner suggested we give it a try so here I am! I'm super excited to find new books and genres to love.

Happy Reading!

message 2072: by Rosa (new)

Rosa | 1 comments Hello! I´m Rose , I´m a teacher and I´m hopping to start reading more this year. So lets see how I do.

(....and hopefully I wont forget about this site in a month again)

message 2073: by Amy (new)

Amy French | 3 comments Hi! I’m a momma of four kids under 8, avid crafter, reader and into social justice and crime. I usually just keep a list of books I read in my planner and read whatever is available on my phone. 😅

message 2074: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (audrey-chapterandconverse) | 1 comments Hi! Very excited to join the group. I've been doing the challenge on my own for a few years but am excited to be here.

Thrillers/mysteries are my happy place but have really broadened my reading list over the past few years and have discovered so many great new authors and stories. I just printed out this year's challenges and am adding it to my reading journal now!

message 2075: by Lucie (new)

Lucie (lucy_31) | 8 comments Hello,
I am really excited to join in this challenge.

My name is Lucie. I am au-pair and I manage to find a part-time job last year, which I was really happy about, especially with everything going on in the world. I am an avid reader. One of the people who say that DNF a book is still counting as finishing a book and that audiobooks are reading because there are still people who don't think so. If I don't read I watch booktube or listen to Taylor Swift or play Animal Crossing.

message 2076: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, I am Jess! I have quarter-assed doing these challenges for about 3 years, but am committed to actively participating and completing it this year. I used to love reading, but the past few years my anxiety wouldn't let me focus enough to get through a chapter let alone a book. I am hopeful using this list will help keep me motivated and on target - and help me get back to my favorite pass time!

I usually gravitate toward Stephen King type stories and memoirs, so I am excited to broaden my horizons and mix it up a bit. I've always wanted to be in a book club!

message 2077: by Erika (new)

Erika Ulvstal (faneddy) | 1 comments Hello! My name is Erika, and I'm from Canada. I've been doing (and failing at) doing reading challenges. I hope joining this group will help motivate me to finish one.

I love the movies, animation especially

I prefer reading fantasy and adventure stories, but I'm open to all genres.

message 2078: by Jen (new)

Jen Chua (nehznaw) | 2 comments Hi all, I am Jen from Singapore. I'm mostly into thrillers. This is my first time participating in a book challenge as I am hoping to expand the genre of books that I read and get awesome recommendations from fellow bookworms. :-)

message 2079: by Mwanamali (new)

Mwanamali (mwanamali) Hi I'm mwana, a struggling writer from Nairobi. This is my first time doing this challenge. I read everything except tragic books. Really looking forward to having this one good thing after whatever the hell 2020 was trying to be

message 2080: by Cari (new)

Cari Cook Hi everyone, Cari from Texas. I love to read but have not had a lot of timd or desire to do it tnis past year for various reasons. I tried to follow Debbie Macomber's reading challenge last year but failed, i look forward to stretching my reading comfort zones this year with these prompts.

I enjoy historical fiction, contemporary romance, mysteries, and biographies.

message 2081: by Chloe (last edited Jan 08, 2021 04:22PM) (new)

Chloe (chlgvrr) Hello! I'm a nurse from California. I have always loved reading and I also love making lists. So when a co-worker introduced me to goodreads last year (yes, just last year - I clearly live under a rock!) I felt like I had hit the jackpot.

This is my first Popsugar reading challenge. I attempted the goodreads Reading Challenge last year but I didn't hit my goal and I'm pointing the blame at the culprit of most things that have gone awry in my (and surely your) life lately = 2020.

Anyway, here's to a better year! Cheers!

message 2082: by April (new)

April Chauvin (abc123classrooms) | 2 comments Hi my name is April and I am from Chauvin, LA . Way down south. I love to read all the time. I am a teacher that has recently moved to the librarian position. I have been out on medical leave due to a car accident and 4 surgeries now, hopefully I am done with that and I am on my road to recovery. Reading has become my best friend through all this being at home and with the pandemic. This is my first time doing this challenge. I hope I can make you book friends and learn alot about other genres and find some great books to read this year. Welcome to everyone that is here. Nice to be here and meet you all. Have a Happy New Year

message 2083: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidibrumar) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Heidi. Originally from Pennsylvania, but 20 years in the Navy took me all over the world. My wife of 17 years and I have been living in Virginia for 7 years now. I'm also doing the Black Card and 52 Books reading challenges, so I hope I can really up my game this year.
Happy reading, and looking forward to getting all sorts of great recommendations from y'all!

message 2084: by Marie (new)

Marie (fragmentsofmoi) | 3 comments Hiya! My name is Marie and I'm from Canada. I've tried to do this challenge for a couple years now but never got further than a book or two. Reading has always been a favourite hobby of mine but I have so many other interests that it gets hard to juggle them all and reading fell to the wayside.

I'm determined to make time for it though, reading during my breaks at work, and I hope to get through half this challenge this year! My only real problem is not having enough room for all the new books I'm gonna get lol I'm sure many of you can relate!

message 2085: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Gilmartin | 4 comments Hi, all! Kristen here. I'm a Jersey girl, born and bred. I joined because I'm looking for new books to read that I might not otherwise know about! I found this group through Goodread's Community Groups. Looking forward to going on this journey with you all. :)

message 2086: by Christine (new)

Christine Hi
I am Christine, 33 from Bavaria Germany. I read in German and English.

I´m working fulltime as a civil servant at the town hall.
Reading is my main hobby and I want to try something new in 2021. I hava a pile of around 300 unread books and want to have a little fun while getting that number a bit lowered. Its my first time with the popsugar challenge. I just printed the Spreadsheet and will make some plans for the next weeks soon :)

My favourite Genres are Thrillers, Classic Crime, Contemporary, some ChickLit and Non-Fiction about History and Health.

message 2087: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kendlessdrm) | 7 comments Hi everyone! Im Kristina, I live in Greece and read mostly
in English but I try reading in Greek too.

I attempted the 2020 Popsugar challenge but started in the middle of the year so didn’t really get much done. This year I want to try and read at least 25 books that will tick most of the challenges boxes, and another 5 that I choose at random.

Super excited about it - I love reading and discovering new books/authors but through this challenge I am hoping I will open up to different genres and writing styles, and understand certain social issues or topics better.

Good luck to all of you!

Ellie (patchworkbunny) | 1756 comments So many new members, welcome everyone!

I thought I'd make sure everyone knows about our weekly check-ins because they have been a huge help in keeping me motivated with the challenge in previous years. I always have a little extra push to make sure I have something to report on!

Sami | 2 comments Hi y’all, Sami here! I’m a Kentucky born & bred gal who lives in West Virginia with her husband, 3 sons, 2 dogs & 1 cat. I’ve always loved reading but with working & raising kids, it was hard to find the time to sit and read a book. I stumbled upon the PopSugar Reading Challenge while browsing the internet, ended up here on Goodreads and feel like I’ve gone down some awesome rabbit hole that I’m still learning my way around :)

Looking forward to working my way through this challenge and making some new friends along the way!

Welcome Christine, nice to welcome another civil servant. I work at a municipality in the south of Netherlands, a few kilometers from the German-Dutch border. Happy readings!

Barbara (soulflame1) | 60 comments Hello all. I'm Barbara, a divorced lawyer in New Jersey USA with three grown sons and a significant other. I love history and history and historical fiction, but I read just about any genre. Looking forward to tackling this challenge, although I am already behind at this point.

message 2092: by Roha (new)

Roha Tahir (ladywestfall) | 1 comments Hi I am Roha, I am from Pakistan. I've just taken up this challenge amid my exams because I thought this will be a nice incentive for me to get out of my comfort zone and my reading slump!! This is my first ever reading challenge and I hope I cover as many prompts as possible...

message 2093: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Payeur | 2 comments Hello, I am Amanda from New Hampshire. I have never taken part of a reading challenge but have attempted reading clubs that just haven't worked out for me. I am a mom of four with a full time job so my reading time is pretty limited. This challenge gives flexibility and a fun way to choose from different genres that I may have never thought of before.

message 2094: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, my name is Alessandra I´m from Mexico and I have never taken part of a reading challenge not even read more than 3 books a year but I wanted to challenge myself to read at least 1 book a month and this group seem very fun! Hope to get out of my comfort zone!

message 2095: by Amber (new)

Amber (punkishpixie) | 3 comments Hi! I'm Amber, I live in Virginia and currently work in IT (K-12). I really enjoy reading but sometimes find myself easily distracted by other media and end up going through phases of reading a lot and then not picking up a book for weeks or months. Since I discovered the yearly GoodReads challenge I've found it has been helpful in keeping me motivated to read more. When I discovered this group I thought the increased challenge of the prompts would help to motivate me even further. I also have a terrible habit of taking too long to decide on which books to start or feeling overwhelmed by my "to read" list (which is admittedly ridiculously long). I thought this challenge could not only motivate me to read even more, but also motivate me to pull out books from my "to read" list that have been gathering dust. Ideally I'd like to get through 52 books this year but I think that may be a bit of a stretch so I will start with just the 40 book challenge and see where it goes from there. :)

message 2096: by Krisselle (new)

Krisselle Solangon (jenjejen) | 1 comments Hi, I am Krisselle from Philippines. I rarely have friends who really love books as much as I do. I am grateful for this kind of group.

Jenn F | 1 comments Hi I’m Jenn!

I read just about anything so I’m really looking forward to the variety of this challenge (especially since I stumbled down a paranormal rabbit hole and have yet to stumble back out 🙃)
