Welcome Joi & Rachel:-)

message 52: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4256 comments I'm in esp since it is Easter and I am trying to finish school work today so I don't have to do any tomorrow. Sadly, no Easter Monday off here like we did when I was a kid.

message 53: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12978 comments One hour of reading done. now all the neighbourhood kids seem to have come out playing and yelling in their gardens, I think it's probably time to switch to audio, lol.

Kristie | 3595 comments Happy DEAR day, everyone! Hope you all enjoy your Easter reads. :) I'm starting with Unfollow Me.

message 57: by Rogue (new)

Rogue | 22 comments Happy Easter everyone! I started this morning with Emma Vol. 2 chapters 3-9, and then I've moved on to Starship Troopers, also chapters 3-9. I'm hoping I might get close to the end of Starship by the end of the day, and then there's both another ticked off my TBR challenge list, and another book to give back to my brother-in-law eventually when I can get down south.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

message 59: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments I'm making good progress on my book Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid . I read for about 1hr 45 mins . I 'm heading out to enjoy a walk with the dog in the sunshine and then back to read more:-)

message 60: by Dev (new)

Dev (lumensuperbis) | 2778 comments i started The Invasion (Animorphs, #1) by K.A. Applegate on audio and i need to finish reading my ebook of Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes (Pandava Quartet, #3) by Roshani Chokshi later as well [think i'm about 1/3 of the way through]. i have a video game stream i want to watch later today but i'm hoping to get through Lumberjanes The Shape of Friendship by Lilah Sturges while i'm watching. i haven't been reading much for the past few days so hoping i can make myself make progress today.

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 205 comments Decided to start a science fiction/magic series I keep putting off, Witch of the Federation Not on my monthly reading plan but in the spirit of the day I am dropping everything to start the series.

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

witch of the federation is great have fun with it. it's slow at first then it speeds up so hang in there.

message 63: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3848 comments Read for about 3 hours so far today... I think about 1 more hour for me to finish up The Bird King...

message 64: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3848 comments @Devann - How do you watch one thing and read something else at the same time?! I would remember nothing of either, and my head would explode. 🤯

message 65: by Judy (new)

Judy | 4068 comments I thought I'd easily participate in this, given that I read more than a book a day for the first 10 days of April... but then I went down a rabbit hole yesterday and have been teaching myself CSS since and very little reading has happened in the last 48 hours.

But! I hunkered down for a couple of hours and read the last 150 pages or so of At the House of the Magician and have made some progress on my audiobook, Anna K!

message 66: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments I finished - Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid

message 67: by Dev (new)

Dev (lumensuperbis) | 2778 comments @Alysa well i mean it's watching a dude play a video game while rambling and answering fan questions so it's not like ...i don't really need to keep up with a plot lol but i generally read graphic novels while also watching something bc graphic novels are not as like intense as prose books and i find it pretty easy to split my attention that way most of the time. also lumberjanes is just a really light read so i find it's great for reading while watching something.

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

i just finished Uncaged. great book. like the animal. and Shay.

message 69: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1317 comments Pretty busy the first part of the day but now I'm sitting down to finish Save Me from Dangerous Men
Save Me from Dangerous Men (Nikki Griffin, #1) by S.A. Lelchuk

Hoping to get this finished in an hour or so!

Judy & Stormborn- welcome!

message 71: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12978 comments Final count for me, 210 pages and 8.5 hours of audio. Also, 2 trays of cookies baked and far too many of those consumed too, lol!

Not a bad day's reading considering the lack of peace and quiet!

message 72: by The other Sandy (new)

The other Sandy | 282 comments I just finished
Lock Nut (The Plumber's Mate Mysteries, #5) by J.L. Merrow

message 73: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3848 comments I finished The Bird King by G. Willow Wilson !
I haven’t started any brand new book today, but I still might, and in the meantime I have taken breaks from The Bird King to continue reading The Ghost in the Third Row, and will also read more of The Last Human and possibly The Lavender Menace: Tales of Queer Villainy!....
Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t start yet another book today when I still have all of those to deal with, lol.

message 74: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments I started Moosed Up (Wild Men of Alaska, #2) by Tiffinie Helmer

Yes Anderle is always slow in starting a series. Have you read any of his other work?

message 79: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments I didn't read as much as I wanted to, but I made a little progress on Unfollow Me. I also dragged my grandson into the fun by reading The Terrible Two with him for a while. I'll look up the pages tomorrow and link the progress.

message 80: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3848 comments Didn’t finish a 2nd book but made a lot of progress nonetheless. Spent about 6 hours reading, altogether. I am calling this a success!

message 81: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4256 comments I got only 3 hours done as Easter ended up being pretty busy but got to "zoom" with lots of family. Finished Phoenix Unbound.

message 82: by The other Sandy (new)

The other Sandy | 282 comments I didn't get to read nearly as much as I wanted to, but I did finish the book I was reading, which was my main goal.

message 83: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 182 comments I read 492 pages today and finished 2 books!

message 84: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1317 comments I finished reading the book I was working on which took about 2 hours. Less than I hoped for but still managed to get some time in!

Great job everyone!!

message 85: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 105 comments Sadly didn't read much. The weather was nice and warmish and was able to go out for a bike ride, the first one since last fall. It was nice to feel the sun.

message 86: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments Congratulations everyone on your reading progress!

message 87: by 〰️Beth〰️ (new)

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 205 comments Totally forgot to post. Managed to read Witch of the Federation (Federal Histories, #1) by Michael Anderle 624 pages. Now I have no desire to go back to my reading plan for the month but instead read the other books in this series.

message 88: by Shannon (new)

Shannon P (shannonmarieparker) | 11 comments My update:

I finished listening to the last 20% of Animal Farm by George Orwell. I then chose to pick up Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Albertalli and finished all 352 pages in just over 3 hours. I listened to my daughter read a Dork Diaries book about pet sitting (I can't remember which one in the series) for an hour and a half later that evening. As I got ready for bed, I listened to 45% of Jim Dale reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

I know I read little bits and pieces of things with my kids in between and I'm not counting the reading my son and I did together that morning. We read a ton on a daily basis, or at least I do and I feel like the kids read more than they used to, but my goal for D.E.A.R. was just to get one full book read in one sitting, finish one audiobook, spend time listening to each child independently read for leisure, and listen to something comforting and relaxing that I've heard before.
