Task: 5.2 How Time Flies
On March 1 there will be 305 days remaining in 2020.
On May 31, the end of the Spring Challenge, there will be 214 days remaining in 2020.

Read a book with the number of pages between 2014--305 pages inclusive.

I read Her Forbidden Knight by Rex Stout It has 256 pp

Her Forbidden Knight

****The book was originally published in 1913 according to the book's Main page so I am claiming one Golden Oldies ticket for this book.*****

This was Rex Stout's first novel, before Nero Wolf. It was crazy fun with a group of basically unemployed lobby loungers in the upscale Hotel Lamertine in New York who fancied themselves the protectors of the two young ladies who worked in the kiosks in the lobby. The "Venus" cigar girl referred to them as the Errant Knights but they took particular interest in Lila the telegraph operator. There is romance with a newer member and intrigue when the others become jealous and try to pin a crime on him. I thoroughly enjoyed it and accept the some of the events in the story as part of the context of the historical time period.

Task 30;4: Musical Mnemonics

Music teachers often use mnemonics to help students remember the staff.

This is a two book task. Choose either Treble Clef or Bass Clef and read tow books for that option.

Option A: Treble Clef
Book 1: Treble clef lines are E-G-B-D-F Every Good Boy Does Fine
Read a book with five words in the title. Ignore subtitles.

I read The Woman In The Window

The+Woman+In+The+Window = 5 words

The Woman in the Window

FAMTASTIC BOOK! I could not put it down! I love the Hitchcock references as well as other movies. One of the best suspense novels I have read this year.

Book 2: Treble Clef Spaces F-A-C-E

Treble Clef has four spaces that spell;; F-A-C-E

Read a book with a FACE only on the cover. One human face with two eyes, a nose and mouth. No body parts below the neck. Include the cover when you past.

I read Anne Frank: The Biography by Melissa Muller.

Anne Frank The Biography by Melissa Müller

Anne Frank: The Biography

Another excellent book about Anne Frank that gives a more clear picture of what she was like, what her family life was like and the historical time in which she lived. It simply is an amazing biography and I highly recommend it!

Cindie | 1835 comments 25.4 - TraceyL's task: The Masked Singer
Help Thread
The Masked Singer is a music competition show where celebrities dress up in elaborate costumes to hide their identity and sing in front of a panel of judges. The show originated in South Korea but as of 2020 there have been franchises in 28 different countries. The American series is currently airing it's third season, and this task is based on some of my favorite costumes from this season.

Choose two options from the list below and read two books, one for each option, OR read one book with 500 pages or more that fits two options.

Option 1: Robot and Teddy - Two of this season's costumes look like classic children's toys. A shiny chrome robot and a tie-dye teddy bear. Read a book with the MPG Children's or Kids. All books must meet the SRC rules.

I read Into the Wild. This book has an AR Quiz No. 67278 EN Fiction

 IL: MG - BL: 5.6 - AR Pts: 10.0

 AR Quiz Types: RP, VP.

This book was approved on the help thread.

Option 3: Taco and Banana - This season also has two food related costumes. A taco with a tomato head and smiling banana. Read a book by a single author whose first and last initials can be found in TACO and/or BANANA.

I read Little Fires Everywhere. The author, Celeste Ng has initials found in taCo and baNana.
