Update to post 261Finished Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, a really enjoyable read, I love stories based on fact (albeit loosely) and this one was a well written tale interweaving the lives of two women, past and present.

Cassandra wrote: "Megan, what did you think of Pride and Prejudice? I just read that one this month as well."I liked it a lot better than Sense and Sensibility. The lack of dialogue in S&S kind of turned me off. Pride and Prejudice seemed to move a lot quicker, even though it took me longer to read it. I also seemed to "get it" better than I got S&S. Jane Austen is my complete works challenge author and I've never read any of her books before, so these were the first 2.
It was kind of strange, because I felt like I instantly got into Pride and Prejudice, but then it dragged around the middle and it took me a long time to read it. The end was great. I haven't read any of her other works, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Welcome, Andrew! I always shoot for three yearly challenges (although this year I have four with the pages one) so it's a great number!
Imagine if I could keep myself enough in check for only three! Well, hopefully I haven't committed to too much, but it's just too much fun adding those challenges.. 30 now, 3 completed, good not all is to be finished this year :P
BTW three is a great number for yearly challenges! :) Should be enough time too :) But imagine we are nearly half into the year! Eagerly awaiting summer warmth here.
I am always signed up for a quarterly and monthly, but I try to find books that overlap with my yearly goals and work through the books on my shelf at home. Challenges definitely help keep me motivated!
Yeah me too! I have read so much this year too! Love it! I think I will probably try to catch up on some yearly and goals this month if I'm able to stay out of the monthly :P
I would like to join this challenge. So far I have read 26/26

Just completed my "Q" selection - The Dark Queen by Susan Carroll. This was an entertaining read with a good mix of fantasy, historical fiction, and romance. The plot was predictable about halfway through and some of the romance scenes were a bit fanciful, but overall, good book. Worth reading! 3.5 stars24/26
