Thanks Cassandra!
A lot actually! I know a lot of people don't like it (including at least one of my friends) but personally I thought it was great, which is strange because I didn't think that much of Royal Assassin at all. At the same time though, it was long, like probably way too long, and I don't know if I'd ever read it again. I'm also between unsure and positive as to whether I'll ever read any more Robin Hobb books any time soon, though seeing as I was between unsure and no when I finished Royal Assassin, that's easily an improvement. :)
But really, though it was too long, and at times it was definitely quite tedious and annoying, I liked it because on the whole it was fairly well-paced and genuinely quite introspective, almost a sort of examination on the nature of humanity and the spaces between things, and either improved on the problems I had with Royal, or made it seem that they weren't much to care about. So while I don't know if I could ever recommend the trilogy on good conscience to someone, this was definitely a book I liked, if nothing else.

15/26 Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys - 4 stars.
Well that was depressing :( Totally worth reading though. I don't normally like YA literature, being an adult and liking adult literature and all, but I'm always so happy when there's interesting, serious, and enlightening subject matter for youth to read about.
