This book I'm looking for may either be not published/self-published/published.
Year read: About 2008-2011
Main characters: Two teenagers, a girl and a boy, who are at first strangers.
Short summary: A girl with temporary paralysis in her legs, who can speak telepathically into other people's minds, and develops a connection with a stranger(a boy). It was set in the olden times, I'd say when guns were already around. It was focused on their relationship, the girl's ordeal living with temporary paralysis and trying to cure it, and the boy's experience fighting in a war.

The girl can speak into anyone's mind if she focuses, I think. One day, she randomly ends up in a boy's mind and he reacts with confusion, unsure if they were his own thoughts. The girl lives in some kind of cottage with her family, and they both end up meeting later on. Their relationship grows and he goes to war sometime later. Before he leaves, he makes her promise to take one step for everyday he's gone(or something like that).
War is physically and mentally hard on the boy. They keep in contact during this period using telepathy(I think she can insert her thoughts into another's mind and hear/read their thoughts in return while it's inside the other person's mind). He doesn't let her know how hard it is, initially. Later on he's escaping from danger/the enemy and she helps him by distracting an enemy guard by making buzzing sounds in their head.
She loses contact with the boy towards the end(or maybe she loses her telepathic ability?) and worries about his fate. It ends with her getting a surprise; he's waiting for her under a tree near the cottage and when they see each other he doesn't go to her but waits and she understabds that he wants her to make her way to him, as a way to encourage and challenge her to improve her paralysed condition(during his absence she makes good progress). It ends with her successfully walking into his arms. Idk if they kiss, lol.
