RLftCI: Currently Reading 2015
I was so excited about
but was very disappointed by it :( The story itself is very interesting but I felt like I was reading a high school research paper...footnotes and all. The illustrations were good but that is about all I can say about it. There were actual letters in the book but from an e-reader POV they were very difficult to see to read. There were lots of mistakes one of the most annoying one was the author repeatedly stating that Memphis is in East TN. Well, NOOOOOOOOO Memphis, as long as I have lived here in TN, has always been in West TN. LOL so that really made me wonder how valid the other information/research in the book was accurate. I think this would have worked out much better as a work of fiction instead of non-fiction.

is written from a woman's perspective. She has a small role in
but is a wonderful, smart, and snappy woman in the sequel. I actually read the second book first, and then the first. The stories are connected, but not terribly closely. And events in the first help to explain events in the second. But, Caz is barely present in Paladin, yet some supporting characters have a larger role.Anyway, the main characters from the two books are so different (besides gender) that it's probably good there are different narrators. Kate Reading does an amazing job.

I am not sure I am enjoying it. The narrator isn't great. Liv is fighting Baird hard and he is being so nice. He even made her pizza!

"The narrator can really make or break a book experience. Thanks for sharing that as I'm interested in working my way through that series as well. Although I agree that Liv is particularly hard headed, she does have some reason to be upset.

LMAO I shouldn't have laughed either, but it is funny. I wonder how many actually caught that or even know that Memphis is in West TN. A good editor should have caught that mistake or maybe the editor thought Memphis was in East TN. LOL
My latest finishes are:1.What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know★★★★★ I really liked this book. I enjoyed this one more than the first :)
2.Texts from Jane Eyre: And Other Conversations with Your Favorite Literary Characters★★
3.The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog: And Other Stories from a Child Psychiatrist's Notebook--What Traumatized Children Can Teach Us About Loss, Love, and Healing★★★★
4.The Color of Love: A Mother's Choice in the Jim Crow South★★★★★ Another very enjoyable read
5.Stitches★★★★★ I loved this one!! Quick easy one sitting read :)

Fatal Deception by Marie Force. I'm loving this series."I haven't read anything by Marie Force yet but her names pops everywhere . I should remedy that!
ShoSho wrote: I haven't read anything by Marie Force yet bu..."You should give her a try. Her fatal series is pretty good romantic suspense. I've also tried a couple of her standalone books which were good. I still have some of her contemporary romance series in my TBR pile.
I have some of her books as freebies but someone at my elibrary is big fan of hers . They have almost all of her books.
I'm in a reading slump. Have only read 1 book so far in 2015. Started a non-romance book for a Pick-It-For-Me thing in a different group, but that was a week ago and I've yet to pick it back up. Been busy every single day, then when I do get home, I fool around online for a few minutes and watch some TV and I'm out cold, lol. Haven't gotten any reading accomplished. Should be working on
,
, or
, or heck even the non-rom I started (
if you're curious), or even
,
, or
to continue series I've started... but I just haven't been feelin' it :\
I'm reading
for the buddy read. Also listening to
only 27 minutes in . I'm not sure what's going on !weird so far!
ShoSho, I love
and Connie Willis's other humorous books & stories. They are so smart. She's also received tons of awards, but you don't see many of her books in the bookstore. I'm not sure if this is due to a lack of PR on her publisher's part, or if her books seem less accessible.

I loved how Lisa Kleypas redeemed Sebastian in
. But Julia Quinn didn't get me there in this book. nevertheless, the Writing was good.

Rosalyn Landor is the BEST. YES, the book was well written, well narrated. Again, it was an incident that left me cold towards the hero. When the book started off saying that Sir Richard Kenworthy HAD to find a bride and had to find one NOW...I just knew!
Ezinwanyi~the Impish Angel wrote: "Rosalyn Landor is the BEST. YES, the book was well written, well narrated."Good to know ,I might be able to get the audio from my library in a few months.
Well I recommend
and a bunch of other books to my online library and guess what ? They bought all of them and in the format I'd recommended !yyyaaaayy

soo much! But the MCs in
were not so great. I really liked Iris at the beginning but she just sort of frizzled out in the end! And with Sir Richard, there was a lot of potential but the character never lived up to its promise!Check out the Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn especially

I went to get the Brigerton series by Julia Quinn. They aren't on audio. I did get books 1&2 on kindle, but why aren't they on audio?
