Shadow's Claim was good, I probably should reread that sometime this year since I've only ever read it once.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Hayley wrote: "Wow Robin you are on a roll :). Any of those become a new favorite?"

LOL yeah but I don't know how long that roll will last. I have a lot more time to read now so I am FINALLY getting to work on some of my TBRs and challenges.

My new Favorites out of that lot of books are:

A Secret Kept by Tatiana de Rosnay Stop Pretending What Happened When My Big Sister Went Crazy by Sonya Sones and Lies My Girlfriend Told Me by Julie Anne Peters which I just finished in the wee hours of this morning :)

A lot of those were just ok so it was nice to get a couple of 5 star reads in there. I am trying to work through my TBRs and just reading random books.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) My latest two reads were Lies My Girlfriend Told Me which I really liked. I wish there had been a little bit more character development, not only with the MCs but with some of the secondary characters too. Overall, I really liked the storyline and the pacing was really good. Julie Anne Peters has become a new favorite author even though I have read a couple of her books before.

Lies My Girlfriend Told Me by Julie Anne Peters

I also finished The Fall of the House of Usher. The first time I read this was way back in high school/jr high school and I didn't like it any more then than I do now. Poe just doesn't seem to work for me. This story was rather nonsensical and had no plot. Just not my cuppa tea.

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Awesome. I will definitely check those three out that you mentioned above. I've been looking for some good Christian Fiction to dive into, but, there are so many to check out!

Looks like, Lies my Girlfriend told me, is actually on my TBR :)

I have read a lot of the Christian Fiction.....some of my favorite authors are Beverly Lewis, Wanda Brunstetter, Shelley Shepard Gray (she writes some mysteries in her Amish/Romances) Cindy Woodsmall, Lauraine Snelling. I hope you find some that you like :)

Robin (robinmy) This week I finished Some Kind of Magic by Theresa Weir Some Kind of Magic by Theresa Weir. This was a unique contemporary romance that I found entertaining.

Then I read The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo (Love at Stake, #14) by Kerrelyn Sparks The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo by Kerrelyn Sparks. This was a so-so addition to her Love at Stake series.

I listened to #10 in that series and it was really disappointing ! I think I'm going to give the series a rest!
Have read 11 , 12 and 13 ?

I've read 1 - 14. Still have two books to go to finish the series. These books are hit and miss. 1, 3, 5 and 11 were my favorites.

Robin (robinmy) Finished Alone with You (Kowalski Family, #6.5) by Shannon Stacey Alone with You by Shannon Stacey. Cute novella.

Then I read Caught by Harlan Coben Caught by Harlan Coben. Couldn't put it down.

message 78: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2335 comments Books I finished recently include these: Treachery in Death (In Death, #32) by J.D. Robb , The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (Bevelstoke, #1) by Julia Quinn , and The Duke Is Mine (Fairy Tales, #3) by Eloisa James . The last one has a great heroine, and a supergeek/hunk duke of a hero, but I struggled given the situations the heroine deals with.

She's been writing a lot in her Arcane Society series (with events in 3 time periods, no less!). However, for one of her recent stand alone contemporaries, I particularly liked Copper Beach (Dark Legacy, #1) by Jayne Ann Krentz and River Road by Jayne Ann Krentz . Of the contemporary Arcane books, I love White Lies (Arcane Society, #2) by Jayne Ann Krentz , which I have listened to multiple times.

LOL I know what you mean.....I am getting ready to move again too. I think moving is one of the absolute worst things to do. I think I would rather clean my bathroom or dust(which I hate) than to move.

I am not that far into Mean Streak by Sandra Brown but so far it is ok. I really used to enjoy Sandra Brown back when she wrote Romance but since she has converted to the Romantic Suspense/Thriller her books have been hit and miss for me and as bad as I hate to say it, it's been more misses than hits.
