Watched the last ep of DuckTales season 1 last night. Really good, just wasn't, like, a season finale :/ Maybe the pace will be better in season 2 this summer.
In other David Tennant related news, I also watched the two-parter first ep of Final Space, which I've been looking forward to for like four months."OH MY DOUBLE CRAP!"
Seriously, it was awesome. I love Gary (basically Star-Lord if he was as stupid as Fry) so much. Avocado's my favorite character, and the Quinn thing... Wow. This is gon' be gooood.

^^^ those and some ShineDown lyric arts can be my project for this weekend (only one is Devil, believe it or not).
I'm on like page 90 of The Young Elites (i can tell it's one of those I'll get through quickly once i START IT start it so let's just see where i can get to tomorrow) and holy CRAP is it much better than Shadow and Bone :DBetter MC, better magic, better mythology, (gem stones? Yes please!) better setting (based on France from what i can tell) and WAYYY better writing overall.
And i know you don't need to CONSTANTLY compare two books, but Shadow And Bone and The Young Elites were published around the same time, feature an MC with emerging magic ability and a regency setting based on an existing country's history.Two tries at similar things. I just like Lu's better.

Fayre i ACOTAR and Whatshername in Shadow And Bone were helpless flat-chested until they got poured into pretty dresses. I don't get the logic. In a pretty dress, not that there's anything wrong with it, if you're flat-chested, you still will be. Usually they aren't even mentioning like bodices or anything, just the dresses.

I've been really good about drawing something in my little book the past few nights. REALLY want to get the momentum going so I'm not all rusty for the ShineDown and Final Space fanarts I want to do this weekend.Wanna do that third one I was talking about ("Another one of the clowns.") but eh... I'm not too crazy about it anymore. I guess we'll see.
Okay didn't draw last night. I did read to page 200 in The Young Elites, meaning i can finish later and start Shattered this evening (best way to avoid a slump- immediately start your next read, review be damned).
My thoughts so far:Shadow and Bone is NOT a Young Elites ripoff. The Young Elites is merely a similar story done MUCH better, where the small amount of romance there is takes a backseat to the action and character development, and the humanizing of the villain is done with drama, not a stupid love interest.
I still think Leigh Bardugo is an okay writer. She's just too into romance for me tastes.
Oh and I'm on ep. 7 of RWBY.... This is my shit. Some episodes are only three minutes of actual content but they've all been REALLY good.
Juane is my favorite so far, then Yang.

her organs just couldn't come back from the infection. we realized yesterday she wasn't making it and we made her comfortable and she passed away at one this afternoon.
she had three wonderful years with our family. she made Misty's life so much better and she got to be friends with Milly.
she was probably nine or ten. that's a good life for a coonhound.
but i still fucking hate everything.
she had started getting better, which is still good because it means she wasn't hurting when she started to go.
i went out there this morning and she wouldn't even look at me.she was in a coma for about two hours.
this doesn't make me never want to get another dog. I love dogs. having a dog is worth the heartache. the heartache just hurts like fucking holy hell.

*sigh*Yesterday was actually a marked improvement, all things considered.
We had already planned to go see my grandparents so we got up early and went. My brother called while we were on our way, so i wound up getting to see my brother, niece and sister in law and we all visited with Pop in the home. Pop's not doing great but he did well while we were there, and it was nice we got to do a big family visit since we won't get many more.
