message 53: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Ultimately I was looking for something like these, but since I think this will be really difficult, I'll take ski boots.

message 54: by Cait S (new)

Cait S You should all read Evergreen by Rebecca Rasmussen because 1) it's amazing and 2) everyone wears snowshoes :P

message 55: by Cait S (new)

Cait S Would this line work for tortilla chips? I just assume tortilla chips are the only kind of chips they could mean lol

He said it would go well with chips and salsa...

message 56: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Yeah Cait I'll take that. I guess it's possible you'd use other chips, but why? lol

Hmmm ... I've found snowshoes in two books ...

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Lucky BC. I haven't food a single one or even a ski boot in the 38 books I've read since January 1st...not even the one set in Montana during the craziness of Winter where I thought I'd for sure find something.

Of course I ended up not being able to finish that book because I hated it so much lol So I had to take it back off the Found list. Hopefully someone else eats some salsa at some point :/

Marla | 1045 comments I actually made a list of the items that I could never find during the scavenger list time frame in an on-going freestyle challenge...and yes, I've now found a tire swing twice, but during all of 2013? No.

That's a cool idea! I remember looking for a car older than 1960's or maybe 1950's. Now I'm reading a book that keeps talking about 1938 Rolls Royce! ugh!

message 63: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments I swear it's easier to find the items once that particular scavenger hunt is over. Not sure why that is. lol

Cait S Would "nachos" work for tortilla chips? I know it's kind of general but I think most nachos are made with them, right?

These chips are going to be the end of me, I swear.

I always try to go through and see if the books other people have found items in are ones I have to read. It's just too bad no one seemed to pick the same bonus words as I did cause I seem to be struggling on those ones more than the others.

I just found those today in The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick . I wish I needed them lol This round has been so hard since so many of us have different words! I couldn't creep on everyone else's books like last time lol

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Yeah Cait, the fact that we're all working on different bonus words makes things a bit difficult. I usually try to check other people's books, but that hasn't worked this time.

Cait S I'm DONE!! Damn you, tarot cards, I found you at last. Nothing like squeaking in at the last minute :D

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Way to go Cait! I'm 95% that I will not be making it. Grrr. lol

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Well I finally found batteries, but I'm still 4 items short of finishing this one. Oh well. I'm excited to get to the next list of items tomorrow!

Cait S Congrats on batteries at least!! I'm looking forward to tomorrow as well. Reading loses some of the magic for me now when I'm not doing this.

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments haha it is nice to have those things to look for.

Marla | 1045 comments I found everything except poker chips. Though I did find potato chips and even wood chips. And they did card tricks and played cards, but *sigh* no poker chips.

message 94: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments I freaking hate when that happens Marla.

message 95: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1045 comments Me too! Thanks, Paris, for the sympathy.

But now that I started my impossible list, I'll still look for it until I find it, but with no pressure.

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments I should do that. I'm sure I'll find toupee eventually. Same with rubber duck.
