On Thursday I requested a book, not realising it was being archived that very same day. I was approved in the evening (UK publisher) and went to grab the book within about half an hour of receiving the email. It was already gone, but appears in my NG stats.

Do you reckon I should just take it as a loss, or is it worth contacting the publisher? I'm still interested in reading it.

Contact the publisher but through NetGalley Andrea. I had the same thing happen once and they opened it again for 24 hours so I could get it. Good luck!

I had a book 'expire' for the first time on NG. It was one that wasn't available in Kindle format (The Hush), so I had downloaded it to my NG app. At first I was disappointed, but when I clicked on it, I was asked if I would like to ask for an extension. Before I had a chance to respond I was given another 20 days to complete reading it! So glad I did, as I am nearly finished it and finding it hard to put down.

I've had that happen too and the publisher has given me an extension to download it from Netgalley, so it's definitely worth asking.

I've also had one publisher not reply to my request to access the book, so I wrote in the feedback that the book was approved after it was archived and that was counted as feedback in my stats.

I did wonder about that - the feedback link is active, so I could certainly do that if they won’t let me have it. I’ll contact them over the weekend, ready for Monday.
