NetGalley - Requests and Read Now Advice
I emailed them today asking if they are planning anything considering we are probably going to be locked down for weeks yet. Last year they did deliveries - this year, nothing!
End of September so far Phrynne :( I hope they respond to you because it's really not good what they're doing now!!

They really reached out to members last year with initiatives to keep people connected with books. All I'm getting now is notices that late fees will not be charged . . . hardly something I am worried about given late fees have already been abolished.

Pleased to say I was approved for this one :)

At the moment, my feedback ratio is 95% and I have less than 20 books still to read.
Of course, this is a temporary situation....

That is so impressive, Marianne, especially considering your comprehensive reviews. For the last 6 months or so, I've been consistently hovering at 77-79%, with the occasional brief pop up to the coveted 80%. I've put all my overdue titles in for the Spring Challenge, so with some hard work I can hopefully get into recommended territory for good before too long!

I know what you mean Patty, I've been working hard over the last few months to get my shelf down from 42 to 26 books. I find around 20 is a good number for me. Any more than that and I don't get time to read non NG books.
I am usually 88 to 90% with about 30 books on my shelf. As soon as I read a few I replace them but I try not to get more than that .

Thanks Sharon - requested that one!

Tea Cooper The Fossil Hunter The Fossil Hunter by Tea Cooper"
Thanks Helen - I've been granted a copy of this title and looking forward to it!

What a lovely way to reinforce the great work many libraries are doing during difficult circumstances!

Fabulous Sarah, I have it waiting for me as well, I do love Tea Cooper's stories :)

Thanks Brenda! My Netgalley % has taken a beating this week already, but I've requested it!

Who knows? To better appeal to the American readership? #9 also had a different title. Shanghai Secrets instead of All the Tears in China
and some of the others may have done too...
Yes I got that too which makes me happy!
Also saw the latest Sulari Gentill The Woman in the Library is up.( Not a book from her series). I requested it but I am not usually lucky with the publisher.

I'll try requesting it Phrynne, but I think I've been knocked back by that publisher before too.
I don't really mind. I am happy to pay for it - she is such a good writer:) (it's just the thrill you get from picking it up before it is published!!!)

Wow that's bad - where i live our library has been great during our many lockdowns, offering click and collect (and even deliveries) no fines on overdues etc. Hope yours can get better for you
