1.23.2020 - What Are You Reading?
I have just finished the Flea Palace by Elif Shafak. i haven't yet decided on my next read but i will probably listen to the audiobook of Life of Pi by Yann Martel.
I’m reading Get in Trouble by Kelly Link. I’m 3 stories down. I’m intrigued and worried at the same time. Haha
Currently reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone because I never got around to reading it in December (which is when I usually like to read HP)
I'm reading an eARC "If I Had Your Face" by Frances Cha. Almost half way through, it's fantastic. Also, "The Eye of the World" by Robert Jordan. I was never really one for historical fiction/fantasy but then I read the Kingsbridge series last year and now anything medieval or historical catches my eye.
I just finished THE LIGHT OF THE FIREFLIES BY PAUL PEN. I LOVED IT! I just figured out that protagonists in captivity is my wheelhouse. I have read ROOM BY EMMA DONAGUE and loved that. Does anyone have any other recommendations that would fall into this category? I feel a slump coming on.😞
Well I just (literally, minutes ago) finished The Other People (by, of course, CJ Tudor) and I cannot wait until the official discussion thread starts because I NEED to talk about this book! What a ride!
i'm about to read the first book in darren shan's demonata series "lord loss" upon the recommendation of my boyfriend
Reading this one A Curse So Dark and Lonely and so far, im loving every bit of it. And Rising Strong - A nonfiction book, and
Out on Good Behavior romance between to woman.
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. So excited but sad to finish this trilogy. The 1st 2 were definitely my favorite books I read last year.
Reading We Came Here to Forget by Andrea Dunlop. I picked it right off the shelf at my local library without consulting Goodreads or having any prior knowledge, which I hardly ever do anymore. So far, I'm not disappointed!
I am currently almost half way through The Outsider by Stephen King, and I also just started reading The Martian by Andy Weir for my English class!
I’ve just started reading The Chalk Man by C J Tudor and am listening to the audio of the first Rangers Apprentice book. I’m a fairly slow reader so I’m just trying to get through my TBR so I am trying a new method of buying books where you have to finish one book before you can buy one book. I’m not perfect but I have gotten through a few older books now.
Currently reading the e-book edition of The Last Star (the third 5th wave novel), and just started We Are The Weather (as my toss it in my purse book). There are other's I've started, but these are my dedicated reads for the moments...
I'm reading The Chain by Adrian McKinty and Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyema. So far enjoying both!
I’m reading the graphic novel version of Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I didn’t know it was already a movie but I’m excited to watch it since it has Kristen Stewart and contrary to popular opinion I love Kristen Stewart 😜
Finished The Flower Girls last night. Started off as a 3 star rating then after some thought it got changed to a four star rating purely because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Currently trying to get through 14 by Peter Clines. It’s an audiobook and quite frankly brilliant. Totally not what I thought it was going to be. Got 2.5 hours left and it’s already a 4 star, hoping to end on a 5 star.
Still got Miranda Warning on kindle to finish but it’s not gripping me as much right now so that might be a dip in book whenever I can.
Can’t wait for February to start next month’s TBR!
I just finished The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley, which was a rather interesting thriller that ended horribly. I loved most of it until it got to the end. I am now starting The City of Ember because... yeah. I need a break from thrillers.
I'm about to start 'the other people' by C. J. Tudor! 8 work at a book store and we have a free readers cover for the staff to read along with other books. So I took the opportunity and borrowed it for this month!
