Okay, I had a bit of time to look at the story and these are the options I came up with (bolded are the section that I changed):

1. Added "Fallen too Far"
She had the BODY of a REPTILE - slow and cold - but the mind of a crafty FOX. She was a PERFECT STRANGER to me butwe were FALLEN TOO FAR and TOGETHER WE CAUGHT FIRE.
On our WEDDING day we received our sacred, matching tattoos and then blasted off to the planet LOTHAIRE for our honeymoon.
ON EARTH WE were BRIEFLY GORGEOUS, but on Lothaire we were FINDING PERFECT. THE MEAT HUNTERS brought us gifts of BONES as we floated down the SUGARy, COCOA-flavored river while THE THIRD ANGEL sang to us. (The first and second angels were tone deaf.)


2. Added "The Bride Test"
She had the BODY of a REPTILE - slow and cold - but the mind of a crafty FOX. She was a PERFECT STRANGER to me but TOGETHER WE CAUGHT FIRE.

I think yellow is the hardest color to find... so many LOOK yellow until you look too closely or get to tineye... :-(
