That is definitely a green one, yes.

Do you have an ARC??

message 652: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) Didn’t think to check the release date 😒I suppose I’ll keep looking

message 653: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) What about Alphas: Origins by Ilona Andrews? It’s a bit short at 135 pages though.

message 654: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments If it's over 100p we're happy!

message 655: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I almost got jealous there haha ;-)

But Origins (Alphas, #0.5) by Ilona Andrews works as well, yes.

message 657: by Tobius (new)

Tobius Alexander (hinatahime666) Does Infamous (Chronicles of Nick, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon work for green?

message 658: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Tiarra wrote: "Does Infamous (Chronicles of Nick, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon work for green?"

That would most definitely work for green!

Sharon picked up the last green cover in the meantime though, so we're good on the colour covers. Thanks though!

Absolutely keep this one in mind for April because we'll most likely have another green card or two coming then!

Kate (kaaate) | 78 comments Hi Team! and Hi Kayla and Tiarra, welcome! :)

Sorry I've been quiet over the last week, I've been struck down with sickness! (Not Convid..) My reading has been completely shelved, I haven't been arsed to do anything, but feeling a lot better now so I'll try and get this book finished and onto the next one! :)

How is everyone this week?

message 666: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Poor you! Glad to hear you are starting to feel better.

I'm good, getting ready for COVID to have an impact at work (I'm training to be a GP) so trying to keep up to date with the heaps of guidance coming out.

Oh my, good luck! I can't imagine working is a hospital atm - I'm sick of working in an office and having everyone moaning and panic buying over it. You'd think it was the end of the world.

message 668: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Frankly, I've arrived at the point where I'd be happy if people were panicking a little more over it here, because honestly, this insouciance over the virus is getting to me a little. People are NOT paying attention and they're still not cancelling the bigger events for the most part.. it's a little frightening, especially considering we're smack dab in the middle of ever-growing trouble zones..

message 669: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Sorry to hear about you being down for the count though, Kate! Sucks when you're feeling so crap that you aren't up for anything at all but at least that's where mindless TV can come in quite handy sometimes. And sleeping.. ah, sleeping. Utter bliss! :-D

Glad to hear you're feeling better! :-)

message 670: by Tobius (new)

Tobius Alexander (hinatahime666) I forgot to add the book I was reading!

I’m reading Fangirl by: Rainbow Rowell

It fits for Green and 4 so far :)

I’ll update when I finish because I’m headed to work now

message 671: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments It's tricky because for the majority of individuals, it'll be pretty mild. The problem is if it isn't, ITU and health services all over the world are going to get swamped v fast. Italy has a lot of ITU beds compared to the UK and USA and they've already reached the point that if you're under 65 you don't get in. The more we can spread out the number of people getting it, the better we can treat everyone who needs it.

The other thing to remember is not to get in a car crash etc as the hospitals might not be able to treat you.

Basically each person is likely to be fine, but if you're unlucky or otherwise ill, you'd really like it if everyone was cautious.

Tobius Alexander (hinatahime666) Hey guys I just looked at the spreadsheet and I don’t really get why it has so many red ticks in the corners.
I just look at it from my desktop and now the spreadsheet has red ticks, it didn’t on the app so I’m just wondering why it has those?

message 674: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Those are on there where we are using a book for multiple cards (i.e. the draw 2 hands). It stops the spreadsheet double counting the number of books each person has read - so helps to see if we need new team members!

message 675: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Sharon - I'm glad the book was so good! Always a pleasure to find a series that pulls at the heartstrings

message 676: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) Starting Origins (Alphas, #0.5) by Ilona Andrews unless someone has something better for the Green.

message 677: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Enjoy! I don't think we've had other suggestions for that card in particular.

We've still got 4 reverse cards to read for. I'm going to look through some of your shelves later for ideas of what to start next to fill one of them. Haven't got a book that's particularly calling to me.

message 678: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) Sophie wrote: "Sharon - I'm glad the book was so good! Always a pleasure to find a series that pulls at the heartstrings"Sophie,
I don't think this was part of a series which actually helps the ending. The book took a little while to get started but I'm glad I stuck with it. I don't find books to often that make me feel both happy that it ended so perfectly or sad that it's over.

Do you have a particular genre you like?

message 680: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) So I’m starting a 4 day trip across the US on the 19th and wanted everyone’s recommendations on audiobooks for the almost 40 HOURS of driving.

message 681: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Fantasy, Crime, Romance, any that intersect those. Basically any fiction that isn't horror!

message 682: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments My recommendation would be the Rivers Of London series if you haven't already listened to them. Kobna Holbrook Smith does an incredible job with them.

Dresden Files!!

They're read by James Marsters, aka Spike.

First book is: Storm Front

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Once I'm done with Silver Silence (Psy-Changeling Trinity, #1; Psy-Changeling, #16) by Nalini Singh , I was thinking about maybe picking up Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen for reverse as Sophie has read it. I've been meaning to read it for a while. Or maybe - because I'm so terrible at sticking to reading plans - I'll pick up something entirely different but I'll try for it to be a reverse one way or another haha.

Had to take breaks in between this one with other books because it took forever to get going. Fortunately I finally finished and hopefully it covers some good cards.

Tobius Alexander (hinatahime666) I’m reading Fangirl

It fits for Green and 4 so far :)
It’s also a reverse with Eldaerwen I believe

message 689: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) Thanks for the recommendations! Both sound great and I couldn’t decide between them so I got both. Can’t wait to start. Also a disclaimer audiobooks definitely take me longer than if I’m reading them, with extended periods in the car it shouldn’t be an issue but just so everyone is aware.

Yep, I've read that one years ago. Can't remember much of what happened in that one though apart from the odd fanfic parts.

It's a shame when books take so long to get going, especially when they're as big as this one.
Every card is a good card! :-)

Though, I do have a question about the 5 you mentioned? Mermaid Inn is the name of a place, right? In that case, it will not count for 5, since for locations only the very first letter can be used for cards.

message 692: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Glad you liked the suggestions! No worries over audio taking longer.

Well done on getting Mermaid Inn finished. I've had a couple of books like that recently and they really do go slowly!

I've settled on Triptych which E read a while ago as my next book to start.

message 693: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sherbear89) Actually the location of the story takes place in various parts of Moonflower Bay aka Matchmaker Bay. The inn is more a focal point in the story. I think I was going for the title starting with I for that anyway. Oh well hope it works in other ways!

Good choice!

I actually need to pick up the next book in that series.

message 696: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Please remember for nonfiction books that characters do not count for the cards - unless it is written like a novel as for example Eat, Pray, Love.
