Congrats on your recipe!

Great work. 30 points has been added to your spreadsheet!

Sharon (sherbear89) So question the 2 books I’m currently listening to, I started them in February but I won’t finish until March. Will they be able to count?

message 553: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Yeah we can use them for March so long as they were started after UNO started.

message 554: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments And we can now finish books for our March hands!

The Countdown has gone to 0 and March has officially begun for the UNO Challenge.

Happy reading everyone!

There will be more books to read this month than last, and more colour cards, so let's crack our fingers and do this! :-D

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I've started reading Warm Bodies, a book I've been meaning to read for a while bu I haven't always been in the mood for it. So far, I'm enjoying it a lot.

message 556: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaaate) | 78 comments Happy March! I am currently dying of a hangover doing overtime at work (yes, I regret volunteering for it..)

My first book of the month is Room by Emma Donoghue purely because it was the only book I have at work. What is everyone else planning to read?

I hope everyone else's Sunday is going better than mine! haha!

Ouch!! Hope the hangover clears really soon!

Just got home from swimming with Joe. Not sure what the rest of Sunday holds yet. Probably a trip to the park since it's finally sunny.

Sorry I'm laughing at your misery :-)

Hopefully the shift is at least sort of quiet! And you're enjoying the book - as it was the only one you had at hand. Does it work for 3/4/5 by any chance? Since it's such a lovely blue cover.. ;-)

message 560: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments From memory the characters etc in Room are v limited. I don't think we'll be lucky enough to have one that fits.

I hope you've survived Kate!

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments I can remember it being heartbreaking and I read it many years ago. Glad you enjoyed it (not sure that's the right term...)

Kate (kaaate) | 78 comments I was just looking at my to-read pile and I have a book to cover the Red 3 in March (and other numbers ha!)

My Sister's Bones by Nuala Ellwood

I'll read this next, just a heads up! :)

message 565: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Almost isn't too bad!

It's a shame it doesn't cover the blue numbers we need, but the reverse is good - have lots of those this month.
Looks good for Red3 to me, hope you enjoy.

message 566: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments EVERYONE!! We don't have much planned for the colour cards so far this month! Please please look at your shelves and see what you've got and let us know for a particular tasks. Thanks!

That's something I absolutely hate about using the app. The important things don't work. But at least you can use emojis ;-))

message 573: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Ah crap, sorry, I forgot to check Chasing Cassandra at home, but I don't think it's looking good.

I might have to postpone that until next month in the hopes of a blue card that works for it.

message 574: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I could cover a Wild Draw 4 card or two:

3 Red: The Girl in the Red Coat by Kate Hamer

3 Blue: Saphirblau (Edelstein-Trilogie, #2) by Kerstin Gier A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir

Or I could read for 4 Green: Furnace by Wayne Price

I also have this lovely green cover lying around but I'm not sure where it could fit as the synopsis doesn't give away a lot of names, will have to check that one tonight: The Corset by Laura Purcell .

message 577: by Eldarwen (new)

They're all good. If you want to read them all, go for it!! :-)

from the books you listed, which ones would you like to read for the colours? Do you have a preference?

Ravenclaw Library Books (ravenclawlibrarybooks) | 234 comments Eldarwen wrote: "Raven,

I am currently reading
The Reader on the 6.27 by Jean-Paul Didierlaurent

I don't mind reading these ones after
The Invisible Library (The Invisible Library, #1) by Genevieve Cogman
The Library Book by Susan Orlean
Lord of the Flies by William Golding

message 580: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Which letters does The Reader on the 6.27 work for?

Lord of the Flies could only be used for a 3 Red and I'm not sure there's an H character in there? I can't remember though, even though it hasn't been that long since I've read the book..

The Invisible Library would be good for the 5 Green if we can agree it is actually green. I have the paperback at home and I'm still not sure as it's one of those greenish blue / blueish greens haha. Willing to go with it though if the team agrees it's green :-) (Reverse as well - I've read it a few years ago.)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Sharon wrote: "Now, Then, and Everywhen by Rysa Walker

Is there a character with F initials somewhere in there?

San Francisco isn't going to work for 4.

Sorry it sucked :-/ But as you said, at least you only paid 20p for it! It's at list a little consolation.

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments The Invisible Library looks more blue than green to me, but could be used for one of the 2. Might be worth taking to the captain's group to ask.

message 591: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments I've got Strangers in Death (In Death, #26) by J.D. Robb for green 6

Citadel (Languedoc, #3) by Kate Mosse might cover one of the remaining blue cards but I don't have a full character list yet.

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Sophie wrote: "The Invisible Library looks more blue than green to me, but could be used for one of the 2. Might be worth taking to the captain's group to ask."

If we can't decide on whether it's one or the other, the captains' group is going to have the same issue.

The result will probably be "teal".

message 593: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 717 comments Bah sorry it wasn't a good book Raven. At least it's off your tbr now

message 594: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Ooookay, I'll do an updated list on the colour cards tomorrow, unless Sophie feels like doing it now - getting late here.

But at first glance - we are good on the blues! Even duplicating one already with what you guys have mentioned so far.

Please hunt down some green covers, those are looking a little forlorn amidst all the others haha. Thanks! :-)

Ravenclaw Library Books (ravenclawlibrarybooks) | 234 comments Sorry guys I added it to the wrong shelf but have just corrected it.
I have a couple more books from my physical tbr that I want to get to so I am doing a random number generator and choosing that way.

Haha, at least it was one a shelf somewhere ;-)

Good luck with the random number generator! Tried that before and then I usually end up with a book I am not at all in the mood for *grin* but that's just my luck.

Aaaanyway, I think Sophie's right and it's definitely time for bed as I should have been there a while ago already as well. Good night!
