You are a well read reader! I have never seen most of your list, Dawn. Did you listen to the last Charles Lennox? I am waiting for my library to get their copy. Did you read all of the Library of lost books volumes?

I have noticed that I don't read the same type of books as what the group mentions most of the time. This does go both ways though, I don't know and have never heard of about 75% of the books and series mentioned in YLTO. :)My library only got the first five Lenox books in audio, I might have to give up on the audio and read the book instead. I still have to read #6 and #7 before I get to the newest one.
What is the Library of Lost Books??
I'm impressed with the amount of Discworld books you've already read - I think I've read 4! I'm a long way off killing that one! It would be one hell of an achievement!
I counted them up a couple months ago and realized I was really close so made it a goal to finish it in 2015.
How is Sharpe. I have to get througj Saxon Stories but of his series Sharpe has intimidated me by being so many of them. Is it worth it? Sure doesn't xompare to the number of discworlds but those are all pretty quick reads
I can't comment on the Sharpe books but if it's anything like the TV series adaptation then it's well worth it. I've yet to read any Cornwell.
I really like Sharpe, I've actually been listening to them all and they make for great audiobooks. They are very formulaic though, so if you hate that you more than likely won't enjoy them. The hero always wins against big odds and the supporting cast is awesome. The TV shows are a very good indication of what the books are like. I am also a big fan of the Saxon Stories by Cornwell. I just finished the newest addition and the entire series is a pretty solid 4 star for me. It's a good period of history and Uhtred is a wonderful character.
Dawn wrote: "I have noticed that I don't read the same type of books as what the group mentions most of the time. This does go both ways though, I don't know and have never heard of about 75% of the books and s..."duh, sorry Dawn. I meant The Cemetary of Lost books.
# 1 was The Shadow of the Wind by
Carlos Ruiz Zafón looks like it is a trilogy, but he has also written a short on #2.5 or something. I think this was a group read on YLTO.
Now I have to go add it to my list.
so I have gotten ahead of you with the Charles Finch books then? I had to wait forever to get 6 and 7 on CD. They came from out of state. I could have read them (still would have had to wait for the books), but I wanted to continue hearing the wonderful narrator's voice.
I never really got into the Discworld books. I read a few, but never kept track. The Melanie Rowan books seem familiar. I will have to look them up.
Travis of NNY wrote: "Is Frederick Davidson the narrator of Sharpes you're listening to. He is the choice at audible"He read half the ones I listened too. The other half were by William Gaminara. I liked them both.
Cherie, that makes more sense! :)I am still debating whether to read Carlos Ruiz Zafón or not. Maybe sometime...
I was hoping to listen to all the Lenox books too but my only option is too buy and I don't think it's worth it. So reading will probably be the way I continue with the series.
And as for Discworld, while not all of them are wonderful. The ones that are....are awesome!
Dawn wrote: "And as for Discworld, while not all of them are wonderful. The ones that are....are awesome!..."I agree. There are still some that I would like to read, especially Mort
He has a new series and I know I read the first two, but I need to look up what they were called. The first was awsome, but I was disappointed by the 2nd after waiting for so long. I cannot remember if there is a 3rd one out yet or not, but I think I got a notice.
I love the ones with Death, though I like Death's Granddaughter better. I've never read any but his Discworld books. None of the others really interests me so far.
I am having a good time with Guards! Guards!. I think I read it long ago as parts of the story are so familiar, but then something happens and it is all new again. I still have two other books to finish so I think you are going to have badge #3 under your belt before I have a chance to get there. I have no longer series after this, so I will be chunking away on the other two levels for the badges for some time. It will give Janice time to read her books. :0)
It was fun being able to get out the door first, but it will be a long slide to get to the bottom of the hill with the rest.
I really enjoyed the last Charles Lenox book. It is going to be interesting to see where Finch is going to take him in the next years. I hope he plans to keep writing them. If you considered reading his stand alone book, take my advice and read Brideshead Revisited, if you haven't already. I enjoyed it much more.
Level three will all depend on how fast I can listen to Nemesis. The other two levels will take awhile longer.
I definitely need to read the rest of the Charles Lenox books. I wasn't going to try his stand alone though I have every intention of reading Brideshead Revisited sometime.
I thought about re-sorting my lists from smallest to largest, but it is a pain in the neck editing it now because it is so long. You have many more much longer series under your belt. It is going to take me a while to whittle some of mine down. I need to finish the books I already own first.
Looks like I'm done this one. I won't get any more books done by the end of the year. So my stats are: Total Levels Finished: 14
Total Books Read: 78
Total Series Killed: 16
Total New Series Started: 10
Total Pages Read: approximately 26,520
Longest book read for challenge: Queen of Fire; 642 pages
Longest Series Killed: Hercule Poirot; 42 books
Level with most books read: Level 7 & 11 with 9 books each
# of Levels killed with one book: 5
# of Levels with 8 books read: 4
# of series that were killed during challenge that have had new books published: 1, Maisie Dobbs
Cherie wrote: "Fantastic, Dawn! We read some great books, hug?"We did. I'm all caught up with Charles Lenox, I have to read them as they get published now. And I finished all the Discworld books and all Agatha Christie's books.
If I had another month for this, I could have finished 3 or 4 more levels, I have a couple other big series that I'm almost finished.
