Haven't marked the abandoned ones yet. There are a couple others that should be on there but I haven't figured out what book I read....

One of my reading goals is to read at least one book from each of the authors who belong to this list of Rock Bottom Remainders band members.

Good to know, KimeyDiann. I tried to pre-order The Bone Tree today on Amazon and it says unavailable when I got the email saying that Amazon refunded my payment - hmmm.

Have you read Natchez Burning? I haven't had a chance to get to it yet.

KimeyDiann - I just "found" Greg Iles; haven't started Penn Cage series.

True Evil was the one that got me hooked on GI!I read a sample of it and bought it on Kindle.

KimeyDiann - I understand. I love books that other GR friends either loved, Meh, or hated. So I keep an open mind when I read. =)
Like Gone Girl - hated it, while many GR friends loved it.

Damn you all for having so many wonderful series! I am adding too many of them to my tbr - I think I hear it crying out for mercy!

I bought this. I'm not sure of the serie (not a fan of), but I'lll give it a try.

It was pretty good. Here's my review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I read the chronicles in chronological order , didn't know there was another way they could be read! So the magicians nephew first

On the other hand, I read the entire series in chronological order later, when I was 18, and really enjoyed it that way too. I tend to think it doesn't really matter - all the books work well as stand-alone novels anyway.

LOLOL

Magician's Nephew > Lion > Horse and his Boy > Caspian > Dawn Treader > Silver Chair > Last Battle.

Maybe I should reread... but then I might ruin the memories... argh! So hard!

I read them in publication order and it was more fun that way. Then when you discover how one of the later books ties in, it is really fun!

EDIT: I'm getting a feeling this might have already been covered further back in the thread so off to read through.
EDIT: And I think it was me who asked that question before too! Damn my memory! Looks like I might have to wait until May to start reading the book then so I can claim those extra 10 points!

I would wait if you can, Sarah. It would be a difference of 15 points and will make less books you have to read if you want to kill off a four book series in any stand alone level. If you read the 3rd and 4th book at the same time you kill off the series, you get to take 50 points (40+10) and would only have to read 10 other books to claim the level unless you combine it with another series kill.
If you use a trilogy to claim a level and you only read the last book you get 30+5 and have to read 13 more books (or combine with another series).
Janice said if you read any last "published" book in a series, you have to kill the series. If you do, then you only get 30+5 points for it and only 5 points for the 4th book after it comes out.

I guess it really depends on if you want to read the series books back to back or space them out.

Actually, look at message 65. You can choose to only take the 5 points on a current "final" book and then read the new final book when it comes out and count the series then. You just can't count the series twice.

I am not sure that I still have them all captured yet, nor that it is accurate.
FictFact does not have She listed as a series for Haggard. One of the books is under Alan Quartermain, but we are going by GoodReads, right Janice? Next problem is going to be to find the next books. I might need to hire a book thief.
