Do I count this as a 6 books series or a 3 book series?
thanks!

Count them as individual books, Tasha. That would be 6 books. And enjoy! Michael Sullivan is a wonderful story teller and you'll be in love with Royce and Hadrian like the rest of his.

Jesse Stone ends with Robert Parker's books for the purposes of this challenge.

Eek! I have 53 started. A few of them I just need 1-2 books to finish. I just finished two series this week. Good grief!

LOL, Travis - you know me well. I do both A and B. When I get a hold of a series, I tend to read them all. The ones on my thread are the ones, I held back on or haven't started yet.

Because of that (and the long commitment) I m still hesitant about join the challenge

I'm pretty sure you just can add them as you go, Carolyn.

No, it's just a starting point to help you see what you've got and what your priorities may be. It's fun to see what series everyone else is reading.

A couple of years back, a town in my area was burned down in a forest fire. Many libraries across the country donated books for the rebuilt library. Any that couldn't be used were sold and the money applied to where it was needed. I picked up the second book in the series. Now I need to acquire the first book! So, I may join you in reading that series.
ETA. There was a question with this.... sorry Peggy, got carried away. Let's stick with whole numbers and exclude this from the series. It is a prequel, so not a part of the original trilogy.

And I like the story, it's nice how all the libraries worked together and raised money :)

I just visited the author's page and I think it is interesting that he has a suggested reading order for "new readers" and for "re-visiting readers".

Thanks for the suggestion Cherie. You and another GR friend of mine are the only ones who read it, but with high ratings!
It seems the series has 7 books though, at least according to the GR page.

I found so many others as I was looking. I am mostly interested in adding the ones that I already have books for but is hard to leave off others that have already been started. I think I need a third catagory and to redo my list again. I have two more Indian in the Closet books to finish too.

I'm pretty sure I've read some of Terry Brook's books around the same time I read David Edding's books.

It makes my head spin! Of course, I want to read series in the best possible order so I drive myself crazy. I guess the best way to go is author recommended order.
That happened to me yesterday when I debated whether or not to get the audible daily deal, Cold City. It's book 1 of the Repairman Jack: The Early Years series. I went to the author's website and he listed all the books set in that world in chronological order. I'm not sure if that was his recommended reading order or not. I finally had to decide to get the book and jump into the fray at that point.

I'm surprised I'm not strategizing too! The only planning I've really done so far isn't really planning because I was going to do it anyway... I'm going to read Shadowfever starting on the 1st, then Iced so I'll be caught up and ready for the release of Burned. Which will just so happen to "kill" the Fever Series for my challenge. But, I'll still need more points to beat the first level of this challenge and I have no idea what else I will read. I haven't much thought about it.
Oh, I'll read the third and final book in the Muirwood trilogy in January as well. So I guess I'll be "killing" two series in one level... And I think that will give me enough points to advance to level two! I'm off to recheck how the scoring works for sure....

I'm just starting to go down this particular rabbit hole, but I can feel the crazy building....

Cherie, I loved the first series and liked the second almost as much. They are definitely lighter with the journey, the boy having to grow up, and some really fun characters. Plus, the fantasy world is pretty consistent within itself. It's not deep, but it's a great comfort read for me.

Welll - you can start a book now if you don't need the 5 points for your level.

Bring on the crazy.

The decision was that we will use Goodreads, in all it's good and warts, would be the deciding factor. The book(s) must be shown as a series on Goodreads. Les Mis is not, so the answer is no.
Sorry, but I'm just trying to keep things as simple as possible.

The decision was that we will use..."
That's cool. I've plenty of others to read

I know, I love gophering too! That is why I'm so surprised I'm not doing more of that than I am. Part of it is I don't think I have a whole lot of unfinished series. Usually if I really like the first book in a series, I devour the entire thing back-to-back until it is finished.
