Betty Neels loved this. From being snowed in - The Fifth Day of Christmas and An Old-Fashioned Girl - to the heoine working for him - Two Weeks to Remember, A Girl to Love - she used it frequently. Bear in mind her romances were notoriously chaste - a kiss is about as racy as she got.

I also loved The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn.
I've also read a few others in this list (https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...), but it's been a few years so I personally can't recommend any by name.

c. working together to solve a murder or uncover a villain (It's okay if there's a murder or villain as a side plot but I don't want the mystery to be the thing that brings them together in the first place)
d. sea voyage with pirates or captains, where heroine is kidnapped or stows away
